כתבה שפורסמה באתר Poets & Quants בדקה את אחוזי הקבלה בקרב re-applicants בתוכניות המובילות, וזאת לאחר שהרוורד פרסמו כי 10% (94 מתוך 937) מהמתקבלים לתוכנית ה-MBA של הרוורד השנה היו re-applicants, כלומר כבר הגישו מועמדות בעבר ונדחו. זו הפעם הראשונה שהרוורד מפרסמים נתון כזה, למרות שהם עדיין לא מפרסמים מהו אחוז ה-re-applicants בקרב כלל המועמדים או מהם אחוזי הקבלה בקרב re-applicants.

Pearson VUE delivers English language proficiency exams for
non-native speakers of English who need to demonstrate their English
language ability. PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic is the world’s
leading computer-based test of English for study abroad and immigration.
PTE is accepted by thousands of institutions worldwide, and approved by
the Australian Government for visa applications and accepted by
thousands of institutions in the UK, Australia, USA, Canada, New
Zealand, and Ireland, including Harvard, Yale and INSEAD.

PTE Academic scores are accessed via an online account. You
will receive an email notifying you once your scores are available.
After you receive this, you will need to login to the Pearson Vue
account that you created to book your test. Typically, PTE Academic results are available within five business days.

PTE Academic is scored against the Global Scale of English,
a thermometer-style scale that gives you an accurate overview of your
skills. The Global Scale of English aligns with a variety of popular
tests and scales around the world.

Your score report has several sections:

• Your personal details and photo
• Your overall score
• A detailed breakdown of your performance

The PTE Academic Score Report includes your overall score, communicative skills scores and enabling skills scores.

The overall score reflects your overall English language
ability. The score is based on performance on all items in the test. The
range for the overall score is 10-90 points.

Scores for communicative skills (listening, reading,
speaking and writing) are based on all test items that assess these
skills, either as a single skill or together with other skills. The
range for each communicative skill score is 10-90 points.

Scores for enabling skills (grammar, oral fluency,
pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary and written discourse) are based on
all test items assessing one or more of these skills. The range for each
enabling skill score is 10-90 points.

The display of the scores in a graph allows you to quickly
see your strengths and weaknesses, and how each skill relates to your
overall performance.

There are PTE Academic test centres located in over 50 countries worldwide.

You do not need any special computer skills. We recommend
taking one of our practice tests to get used to moving through tasks.
You can also watch the tutorial on our website.

You can take PTE Academic as many times as you like. You must wait to receive your scores before you can book your next test.

The PTE Academic is accepted as TOEFL substitute at the following MBA programs:

IELTS is the most widely accepted English language test
that uses a one-on-one speaking test to assess your English
communication skills. This means that you are assessed by having a
real-life conversation with a real person. This is the most effective
and natural way of testing your English conversation skills.

IELTS is the world’s proven test. Due to its high quality
controls, IELTS is accepted by more than 9,000 organisations in over 145
countries.

• Universities, schools, training colleges, tertiary institutes
• Government departments and agencies
• Professional and industry bodies
• Multinational companies and employers.

Most of the top MBA programs accept the IELTS as a alternative for the TOEFL.

The IELTS Global Recognition System can tell you exactly which organisations accept IELTS and the scores they require.

IELTS recognises both British and American English in terms
of spelling, grammar and choice of words. It also incorporates a mix of
native speaker accents from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and
US in the Listening component.

IELTS tests are offered up to four times a month in over
900 test venues in more than 140 countries. The cost of taking the test
is set locally and payable in the local currency, making registration
convenient. Results are issued 13 calendar days after the test. Official
IELTS test centres can send Test Report Forms directly to your
organisation or institution (provided it has been nominated), either by
mail or as an electronic download.

You have a choice of two versions of IELTS: Academic or General Training.

Everybody takes the same Listening and Speaking components. It is the Reading and Writing components that differ.

You will take the Listening, Reading and Writing tests all on the same day one after the other, with no breaks in between them.

Your Speaking
test will either be after a break on the same day as the other three
tests, or up to seven days before or after that. This will depend on
your test centre.

Test Report Form

Your Test Report Form will be posted to you 13 days after the test. All test centres will post your Test Report Form to you.

You will only receive one copy of your Test Report Form,
unless you are applying to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), or
United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI) – in these cases, you can
receive two. Proof of application to CIC and UKVI must be provided.

You can have copies of your Test Report Form automatically
sent to five institutions free of charge. This helps streamline your
application processes. Additional copies will incur a small
administration charge.

Your Test Report Form is a valuable document and you should keep it safe and secure because it cannot be replaced.

It includes:

• your score, on a Band Scale from 1 to 9, for each section of the test (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking)
• your Overall Band Score, on a scale from 1 to 9
• whether you have completed IELTS Academic or General Training
• your candidate photo and details of your nationality, first language and date of birth.

Test Report Forms are valid for a recommended period of two
years. They have inbuilt security measures and cannot be copied.
Receiving institutions can also access a database to double-check your
results.

SMS alerts and online results preview services

Some test centres provide SMS alerts and online results preview services.Contact your local test centre to find out more.

There is no pass or fail in IELTS. The test assesses all levels of English proficiency.

Test takers are graded on their performance in the test,
using scores from 1 to 9 for each part of the test – Listening, Reading,
Writing and Speaking. Your results from the four parts then produce an
overall Band Score.

This unique 9-band system measures scores in a consistent
manner – wherever and whenever the test is taken. It is internationally
recognised and understood, giving you a reliable international currency.

Recruiting is a very
central part of student life, prioritized above all else. The career
office is well-organized and supportive, staffed by highly experienced
professionals. All of the top consulting firms, investment banks and
CPGs recruit on campus. Given the proximity, CBS students are often
invited to events at the offices of potential employers, giving them far
more exposure and closer relationships than they would have at schools
outside of New York.

What did you like about the school/program?
I
really enjoyed the opportunity to get global exposure while at CBS. I
studied abroad for a semester in Argentina, I did a pro bono consulting
project in Mexico, and I took a class that studied global business in
Costa Rica. I also traveled with clustermates to Russia, Israel, and
Southeast Asia.

Who will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
CBS
is great for anyone interested in consulting or banking, anyone who

ועדות הקבלה מתחילות להתחשב בציון ה-IR בג'ימאט

כתבה באתר Poets & Quants מדווחת על ממצאי סקר של חברת קפלן, ממנו עולה כי לאחר כמה שנים בהן ועדות הקבלה לא ייחסו חשיבות מיוחדת לחלק ה-integrated reasoning החדש במבחן הג'ימאט, השנה יהיה לחלק הזה משקל רב יותר בתהליך הקבלה לתוכניות ה-MBA.

הסקר גילה כי 59% מחברי ועדות הקבלה ביותר מ-200 בתי ספר למנהל עסקים בארה"ב ובריטניה השיבו כי ציון ה-IR הוא חלק חשוב בהערכת המועמד. רק לפני שנה אמרו 41% בלבד מחברי ועדת הקבלה כי הציון הזה חשוב.

ניתן להסביר את השינוי בזכות העובדה שכעת כמעט לכל המועמדים יש ציון IR, בעוד שלפני 3 שנים כשהחלק הזה נכנס למבחן הג'ימאט, רק למעט מועמדים היה ציון IR ולכן היה קשה להשוות אותם למועמדים אחרים שנבחנו לפני הכנסת השינוי ולא קיבלו ציון IR.

למרות זאת, עדיין קשה לכמת בצורה מדויקת את חשיבותו של ציון ה-IR. ועדות הקבלה עדיין נותנות יותר משקל לציון הג'ימאט הכולל (שנע בין 200 ל-800 ואינו כולל את ה-IR שמגיע כציון נפרד), עם דגש מיוחד על החלק הכמותי.

אגב, כשהחלק החדש הוכנס למבחן לפני 3 שנים, סקר של קפלן מצא כי 54% לא היו בטוחים מה תהיה חשיבותו בתהליך הקבלה, ורק 22% סברו שציון ה-IR יהיה חשוב.

הסקר של קפלן נערך באוגוסט-ספטמבר 2015 בקרב 209 בתי ספר למנהל עסקים בארה"ב ו-5 בבריטניה.

ציון חלק ה-IR נע בין 1-8, כאשר הציון הממוצע של נבחני הג'ימאט בחלק זה הוא 4.3. ציון 7 נחשב באחוזון ה-81 בעוד ציון 8 נחשב באחוזון ה-92.

The IE Admissions Test is a practical exam aimed at an
international audience. No preparation is required, as the exam
determines participants’ ability to process information and think
strategically, rather than regurgitate previously studied patterns or
equations.

The
IE Global Admissions Test (ieGAT) is the admissions test created
exclusively by IE, which can be taken instead of the GMAT, GRE or LSAT.
This
test has been developed as a means of determining a candidate’s ability
to make management‐style decisions under pressure. This exam is
different to other standardized tests in a number of ways:
• It is
aimed at an international audience, with a diversity of educational
backgrounds (thus, it does not favor any particular educational system
or area of study);
• It is a practical exam (as opposed to an academic exam), presenting participants with more real life situations;
•
No preparation is required (this exam determines participants’ ability
to process information and think strategically, rather than repeat
previously studied patterns or equations)

The ieGAT consists of
three types of tasks: verbal, numerical and diagrammatical. Questions
are scattered randomly throughout the exam, requiring participants to
switch rapidly from one line of thinking to another.
• Comprehension
and reasoning. This section consists of a text box which must be read
and understood by the participant. Each text box is followed by two
questions regarding the text. This portion of the test determines
participants’ comprehension of written English in a professional
context.
• Comprehension, reasoning and calculation. This section
consists of graphs, and data analysis. Advanced mathematics is not
required. Rather, participants need to think quickly and process large
amounts of information and quick calculations.
• Logical‐abstract
reasoning with symbols. In this section, participants take a
predetermined shape through a series of modifications to determine the
final product. This section requires strong visualization skills and the
ability to maintain track of multiple “images” at a single time.

Prior
to the exam, participants will go over 6 practice questions (2 of each
type) with an IE representative. The test lasts 80 minutes.

Requirements and recommendations:
‐ Including the preparation and the personality test, the entire time estimated is 2 hours.
‐
Please bring a calculator and a pencil with you to the exam. The
calculator does not need to have any special functions. However, it
should be one that you are comfortable with, as speed is essential to
achieving a good exam result.
‐ Candidates must present ID.
‐ Candidates arriving after the commencement will not be permitted to take the exam.
‐ The ieGAT may only be taken once.
‐ In order to take the ieGAT, candidates should pre‐register in http://www.ie.edu/events selecting IE Global Admissions Test.

MIT Sloan פרסמו בבלוג של ועדת הקבלה את מועדי הראיונות למועמדי הסיבוב
הראשון. ועדת הקבלה תתחיל לשלוח זימונים לראיונות מאמצע אוקטובר ועד השבוע
של ה-9 בנובמבר, אז כל מועמד יקבל סטטוס מעודכן. הראיונות יימשכו בערך 6
שבועות מה-26.10 עד 4.12, ויתקיימו בקמפוס או ב-15 ערים שונות ברחבי העולם.
מועמדים שיבחרו להגיע לקמפוס לראיון לא יקבלו עדיפות בתהליך הקבלה אך הם

האקונומיסט פרסם את הדירוג השנתי של תוכניות ה-MBA הטובות בעולם והציב את Chicago Booth במקום הראשון, בפעם השלישית ברציפות. במקום השני דרדן ובמקום השלישי טאק (אשר החליפו מקומות ביניהם בהשוואה לדירוג הקודם).

הדירוג של האקונומיסט נחשב למעט חריג בנוף ושונה מהדירוגים המקובלים. הוא מתבסס על שני סקרים – הראשון בקרב בתי הספר והשני בקרב הסטודנטים והבוגרים. הקריטריונים המשמשים לדירוג התוכניות הם יצירת הזדמנויות קריירה חדשות (35%), התפתחות אישית וחוויה חינוכית (35%), גידול בשכר (10%) ופוטנציאל הנטוורק (10%). בנוסף לנתונים שנאספו השנה, משקלל דירוג האקונומיסט גם נתונים שנאספו בשלוש השנים הקודמות. באופן מפתיע מציב הדירוג במקום החמישי בעולם את HEC Paris, בעוד בתי ספר הנחשבים חזקים יותר מדורגים נמוך יחסית – וורטון במקום העשירי, קולומביה במקום ה-12 וסטנפורד רק במקום ה-13.

heart of business and culture of Los Angeles. Only an hour flight from
SF, 4 hour drive from Las Vegas, 2-hour drive from San Diego. This
location provides great advantages in contacting business professionals,
companies and attending professional conference.

internships for students in your school? How strong is the career
office? Did the school name/brand give you any advantage when looking
for a job? Are there any specific recruiters who mostly recruit from
this school?
See employment report for employers / specific
recruiters – from the top of my head I’d say Google, Deloitte, Mattel,
Amazon, Microsoft, Disney, and more.
In general – Anderson is not
just a finance school, or just a marketing school. The students are from
all backgrounds – from school teachers to investment bankers – and
after Anderson they can transition into anything – tech, consulting,
i-banking, entertainment, and much more. The LA location is a huge
advantage for both tech and entertainment, and the school brand is very
strong in Los Angeles and California.
The Parker Career Center is
incredibly helpful in preparing students for interviews, writing
resumes, networking – they are there to assist with each and every
element of the job search.

How did you deal with the Visa issue?
Had an F1 Visa, then was on OPT status, then applied for an H1B and received it (won the Visa lottery).

What did you like about the school/program?
By far – the collaborative environment. But also everything I wrote in #1 and #3, as well as the LA location.

Who will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
People who are cool, laid back, get stuff done, real people- not fake,
friendly, funny, don’t take themselves too seriously because at some
point you’ll probably wear a funny costume and will be made fun of,
people who care and love helping – because the school is in many ways
run by its students. People who are leaders and like initiating and
taking charge of things.

Any tips for someone who is considering applying to your school?
• Speak with current students and alumni prior to submitting. Each club has an admissions VP – reach out to them.
• If possible – visit the school.

focus on teamwork and collaboration, which encourages everyone to keep

you share some details about the atmosphere in the school? between
students, between students and faculty? How do you spend your free time?
The atmosphere is exciting and busy. Free time is spent socializing/networking as well as recruiting for internships/jobs.

Can you share some details about the area/city?
Chicago
is a world class city with amazing food, museums, and music. However,
it feels far away from Evanston, which feels like a nice little suburb.

Can
you share some details regarding job opportunities and summer
internships for students in your school? How strong is the career
office? Did the school name/brand give you any advantage when looking
for a job? Are there any specific recruiters who mostly recruit from
this school?
A lot of recruiting for general management,
consulting, and marketing/CPG. Surprising number of Kellogg students
join top mgmt. consultancies.

Who will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
People who want to enter gen mgmt. or consulting; people who are very social and like working collaboratively.

Any tips for someone who is considering applying to your school?
Be passionate and excited, intellectually curious.

What is special about your school? In your eyes, what differentiates your school from others?
Ross
has a great mix of social life and career focus, it really is the
embodiment of the work hard play hard attitude. People in the school are
very collaborative and the curriculum supports that – either through a
lot of group work (many classes mandate work in groups) or through the
MAP project which teaches students to work on a real life project as a
team. In addition as a very large university with many top 10 programs
students at Ross have numerous opportunities to collaborate with
students from different programs and connect with the largest alumni
network in the U.S

Any recent changes in your school? or in the admission process?
As
a public university Michigan's budget is under constant review and as
part of that outstanding loan balance is constantly monitored. In recent
years outstanding loan amount was a concern that led to a policy change
in which loans to international students were not available. It is
recommended that students who apply look into more recent policy and for
alternative option of financing.

Can you share some
details about the atmosphere in the school? between students, between
students and faculty? How do you spend your free time?
Ross
is a very fun oriented school and there are a lot of activities
dedicated to students getting to know their classmates. From a weekly
happy hour to organized special events there are a lot of ways the
school fosters socialization but more important than what the school
does is the attitude of the students – getting to know others is a key
quality in students who join Ross and the nights spent hanging out with
fellow students (and the network created as a result) is one of the
biggest advantages the school has to offer.

Can you share some details about the area/city?
Living
in a college town is a very unique experience – from football games in a
stadium that is big enough to hold everyone in Ann Arbor to having
everything you need in a walking distance there is just something about
living in a community of people just like you. In addition, the
proximity to Detroit allows students to get involved with communities
with different needs and opens students' eyes to the impact that their
actions can have on the world around them.

Can you share
some details regarding job opportunities and summer internships for
students in your school? How strong is the career office? Did the school
name/brand give you any advantage when looking for a job? Are there any
specific recruiters who mostly recruit from this school?
Ross
is a well balanced school when it comes to career options – there are a
lot of opportunities in tech, marketing, consulting and finance. The
career office has great relationships with numerous companies and there
is a good representation of the different industries in the on-campus
recruiting process. There are specific companies that recruit very
heavily on campus due to a strong alumni base in those companies like
Microsoft and Amazon. In addition the career office's approach to
recruiting enables students to try interviewing with different companies
from different industries while maintaining a well balanced system that
wont prevent any opportunities from any students.

How did you deal with the Visa issue?
The
school's process of supporting international students makes all the
visa arrangements extremely easy. There is careful documentation
available to all students and face to face support whenever it is
required. This is handled so well that most students dont even see this
as an issue

What did you like about the school/program?
The students attitude toward their schoolmates.

Who will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
Michigan
is an amazing school for people who want more than just education, it
is a place that offers a lot but it is up for the student to go out and
find the opportunities that are right for him / her. Its a school for
people who want a great experience and are willing to put in a great
effort to make their time at school amazing for themselves and their
friends.

Any tips for someone who is considering applying to your school?
Really
get to know people at the school and recent graduate and see if you can
envision yourself spending two years with these people because Ross is
all about the people you're with.
