I received the Stanford mail more than a week ago, but it says nothing. The one Israeli who was interviewed received this mail after the interview was already conducted, and the same goes with other applicants in the US (according to BW forums).

I keep my expectations very low about Stanford (and in general as well, these interviews are not friendly at all :-)

Don't be so frustrated because you had one lousey interview – I've had an interview for Wharton last week and the interviewer was very nice (of course with Wharton there's still a lot to go even if the interview went well).

I think you might have had a problematic interview because of a specific interviewer, or because HBS interviews are known to be pretty hard. What I'm trying to say is that it won't necessarily be like that with other schools, so be optimistic – they're not inviting you for your looks…

No news so far, but I've just done my interview a few days ago. Wharton interviews about 50% of applicants, so it's a progress – but definitly not the end.

I hope for the best, it's a really good school in my opinion.

Dudy, I must say that i've heard different statistics about the percent of students interviewed. From what I know, approx 20-25% are interviewed and 50% of those interviewed are addmitted. But with all the disinformation in all the different forums, you can never really know… I guess it is only the final answer that matters…

From the BW website regarding Wharton:

In 2004, the B-school interviewed 55% of its full-time MBA applicants, and 100% of its admitted applicants.

Since the school accepted 16% of the applicants, it means that on average people who are interview have about 30% chances.

I must admit that i've seen other figures mentioned on the Wharton forums (the numbers were given by admissions), but this is really not important. Only the final answer counts…

I just got an email from Wharton saying that they have decided to move the decision release date up two days. All decisions will now be released on Tuesday, December 21st.

Actually, interviews are not required for Tuck, but they encourage people to sign up for on-campus interviews that are given on a first come first serve basis. This allows prospective students to experience a day at Tuck and shows the applicant's interest in the program. But Adcom understands that not everyone can make the trip to Hanover. When they review applications and want to find out more about the applicant or have a question they want to ask, they will request an interview. It is usually an indication that they found your application interesting and want to talk to you more. Good Luck!!

Yesterday evening I opened my email and discovered an interview invite from HBS!!!!!! It seems as if they are still sending out the invitations….

The only problem is that the Alum interviewing in Israel ran out of available slots, so now they only offer phone and on-campus interviews… In addition to this problem, they offered me an interview on a week I am out of the country, so I called them up, and the only other available date was THIS MONDAY!!!! I thought of flying over, but it just wasn't cost effective for only the interview (most of the students have finished their tests and left for Christmas vacation so no one is available to show me around…)

I'm off to prepare for the interview!!

P.S – Dalit, we had no doubts about your being accepted! Congratulations!!
