    LBS video interview

This year LBS added another component to their admission process – video interviews. Here is the relevant part from the post on LBS admissions blog:

    "This
year we are introducing a video submission element for all candidates
who reach the interview stage. This was not a decision we took lightly.
We’ve been considering making this introduction for a couple of years.
We piloted the process last year with a few candidates, to help us
assess English language skills. But this year we are going all-out and
using the videos to help us learn a lot more about you.

    I
want to take this opportunity to reassure all interviewees that we are
being very thoughtful about how we use this exciting new addition to our
process. The team have carefully considered what our expectations are
and the limitations of the new addition. We recognise that we need to
consider cultural differences, as we do with everything, because we have
such an international community. Some people will feel a lot more
comfortable than others filming themselves answering questions. And
some professional backgrounds train you to carry out such activities. We
are NOT looking to use this as a tool to disqualify candidates or
‘catch you out’. Quite the opposite – it is another opportunity to shine
and help us get to know you. Don’t even worry (too much) if you don’t
time your answers perfectly – we won’t deduct points. We just want to
see how you perform on both the prepared question and the unprepared
section. We love meeting candidates at events, but it’s not possible to
meet you all, so this helps us see you in action."

    MIT Sloan Interviews

MIT Sloan released this update on their admissions blog:

"For those of you preparing for interviews,
our goal is to meet you and get to know you better. We are looking to
collect as much information as possible to supplement your application
and to help support your candidacy for MIT Sloan.

    We use
a Behavioral Event Interview (BEI) model to assess candidates for the
MBA program. Our interviewer will spend 30-45 minutes asking questions
about your past experiences to better learn how you think, act, and
reflect. It’s important to come prepared with stories and examples that
you did not discuss within your written application. Keep in mind your
interviewer will have reviewed your application prior to meeting with
    you.

This Round we are travelling to 20 different cities
to meet with you. If you are visiting campus for your interview, we
encourage you to take advantage of the programming we’ve put together to
help you learn more about us – you’ll have a chance to visit class
and/or join current students for lunch.

Here’s a quick recap with some important tips on the interview:

    • Ask important & thoughtful questions that are meaningful to you!
    • Do
your research prior to the interview!…We are not only assessing your
past experiences but also your fit with, and enthusiasm for MIT Sloan.
    • Be professional. Dress in business attire.

    As
a reminder, we will continue to send interview invitations until
November 1st. By that date, every R1 applicant will receive an updated
    decision status."

Wharton Round 1 interviews and TBD

Wharton posted this update on their admissions blog:

    "Invitations
for Round 1 applicants to interview were sent November 2, and if you
were invited, you will participate in a Team Based Discussion (TBD) and a
one-on-one interview in the next few days — either on campus in
Philadelphia, or in one of several major cities around the world,
including Beijing, Delhi, Dubai, London, San Francisco, Sao Paulo,
Seoul, Singapore and Tokyo. We encourage you to interview at a location
most convenient to you. Much has been written about the Wharton TBD,
which is meant to model the highly collaborative nature of the Wharton
MBA environment in order to identify characteristics (communication
style, level of engagement, leadership skills, decision-making process,
etc.) that we believe contribute to the success of Wharton students.
This is your opportunity to express who you are as an individual, but
perhaps more importantly, as a member of a functioning team.
    The TBD
is one element of the admissions process that, when pieced together with
your written application, helps paint a clearer picture of who you are
and how you may fit into the Class of 2019. Our hope is that through
this process, you will not only be able to present how you approach and
think about certain challenges and opportunities, but also have a chance
to experience, firsthand, the team work and learning dynamic that is
    central to the Wharton experience.
    When thinking about how to
approach the TBD, the advice I most often give applicants is to reflect
on your day-to-day interactions, both personally and professionally.
Each of us engages in TBDs every day of our lives. Pay attention to the
role you typically play in those discussions, and when you get to the
TBD, own that role! Are you the quiet consensus builder? The big idea
person? The compromise negotiator? All have a role and usually flourish
    in our TBDs.
We wish you all the best as you enter this exciting
phase of Round 1 interviews, and we look forward to meeting you at a TBD
    very soon!"

    Low Season Deadlines

For those of you who are still planning on applying
this year – here is valuable info that many MBA candidates might not be
    aware of:

From Mid-January, there are about 40 deadlines (that are
not last rounds deadlines!) for some of the world's top MBA programs
(Top 25 programs, including Columbia, INSEAD, and others).

Those deadlines are for September 2017 or January 2018
intakes, and in many of these programs candidates received high, or even
    full-tuition scholarships at late rounds.

These are not all last rounds, for which the admission chances are significantly lower.

You can find the list of these deadlines at: https://aringo.co.il/LowSeasonDeadlines/

Hope you find this info helpful!
