    Hello,

Has anybody in the forum used a home computer GMAT prep application, like Princeton GMAT 2005? I understand these are exactly like the actually CATs, and have helped raise many scores (as indicated in marketing materials).

The most help I need is within essay writing. Can anyone recommend good books to tackle this issue. There are many out there, but recommendations from, say Amazon.com, are all over the board, and not very helpful.

Are most porgrams in Israel is English or Hebrew? Are they helpful or just long-winded?

    Thanks to the group.

    Hello All,

I'm an American living in Israel and as such, I see more value in pursuing a European MBA rather than an American – based on investment of both money and time out of the job market. I've tried local MBA programs, such as TAU, and was really disappointed with the management of the schools overall. Also, I found their admission policy to be extremely strict in relation to Undergrad grades, without interviews or GMAT as a major factor.

My question for the group is two-fold:

    1) Do Israelis feel a preference in being accepted into MBA programs in order to boost the class profile, especially in the US?

    2) In Israel, are 2nd tier schools, such as Babson which is rated highly for Entrepreneurship, considered well among the business community? Or are they narrowly-focused on the Harvards and Whartons of the MBA world?

    3) As an American in Ra'anana, my Hebrew is, well, slightly handicapped. This limits my information resources. So, can anyone advise me as to other venues for meeting business people, MBA forums, Marketing forums, etc. face-to-face in Israel?

    4) I haven't seen much information in this forum about IMD, INSEAD, or APAC-region MBA schools. Anyone in this forum attended these schools and can advise on their programs?

I know these questions are beginner level and winded, so to avoid boring the group, you are invtyed to reply directly to me: [email protected], 052-855-3625.

Thanks in advance to the group.

Can anyone help with advise to filling out the essays within the admission applications?

I know of a few books on this topic that are less than helpful. I also know of supposedly "consultants" who will advise on all aspects of the admission process to aid in acceptance.

Another question is about the best way to approach an Israeli manager or peer for a letter of recommendation. In the US, it is acceptable to see the recommendation before it is sent off. I feel more secrecy among Israelis.

The secrecy aspect, as well as the dog-eat-dog in Israeli business leads me to my next question. In the US, we have a long-standing desire to create a legacy by mentoring younger managers and workers. Is this phenomenon also in Israel? How to go about approaching someone regarding mentorship?

    Thanks.

    William

    Hello,

When is the next information session on LBS?

I understand that LBS has not gone the way of most European schools in offering a truncated program of less than 12 months.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

How are Israeli MBAs considered overseas? I know TAU has a good relationship with Wharton and now a program with Kellogg. What about the up & coming IDC program at the Recanati School of Business? I heard they dropped next year's program for lack of interest.
