To: tabash
Tal,
Thanks for the advice!
I'll give the school's health insurance (Columbia's in my case) another close look.
Yoni.

An "administrative question" please:
Can anyone (accepted, current student, Alumni) recommend a good Health Insurance for an Israeli student going for his MBA in the U.S.?
Thanks guys,
Yoni.

A question regarding Visas.
I have been accepted to an MBA program in the U.S.
Does anyone know if I can you obtain a J-1 Visa and a J-2 for my "significant other" if the two of us are not married?
Has anyone who has been accepted to MBA studies in the U.S. before, encountered the same situation?
Thanks,
Y.S.

Thanks Ivy1.
Ok, than given what you just wrote:
What in your opinion, is/are the best route/s that one can persue during/after business school in order to hopefully eventually (in the space of a couple of years, if not directly out of business school) get to PE (LBO's and such, for instance)?
(Assuming one goes into one of the top-tier schools (Chicago, Columbia for instance, but not Harvard/Wharton/Stanford))

Hi L,
Can someone also transition into PE from Investment Management (either from a division within an Investment Bank, or from another type of firm which is not an Investment Bank) or solely from traditional Investment Banking or Consulting?
Thanks.

Ivy1,
A followup to my last response:
Can I also contact you through regular e-mail?
Thanks,
Y.S.

Hi Ivy1,
Thanks for this useful information.
I wanted to ask:
Can one who is not an American and with no previouse experience in PE (and Buyout) enter the industry from the Investment Management industry (and Hedge Funds), which according to you is relatively easier to get into (in comparison to PE)?
Thanks.
בתגובה ל: ארכיון 2: ???Any Israeli Applicants #8713To: All
Does anyone know from which school(s) one has the best chances of getting into these fields (of course, the school(s) may change from one field to the other)?
1. Investment Banking
2. Consulting
3. Hedge funds
Thanks.

For those who applied to Harvard in the 1st round, and received an interview invitation:
Approximately, how long after the 1st round application deadline, did you receive an interview invitation?
Thanks.

So,
Is it worthwhile to take the GMAT again, and improve it (even after you have been admitted to an MBA program), just to have this high criteria when competing for jobs with your fellow MBA students?

Hi Gilam,
I also asked this today in another thread but I wanted to use this opportunity of you asnwering questions today:
How does Harvardapproach their word limits?
Meaning, is goind up to 10% above the word limits in the essays (400 words each) still ok? Or do they enforce the word limit rule more rigidly, and going over the 400 word limit a strict no no?
Thanks,
Y.S.

And if so, when?
Thanks,

So, if the question from school x asks to state other programs you're applying to, but does not ask you to specify ALL of them.
Should the strategy be to mention other schools, but not to mention schools which are harder to get into than school x?
Thanks.

Thanks,

Hi Eliko,
Congradualtions on your interview invite!
How does the interview schedualing process work for Chicago?
Does your date means that from now on the available interview interval in Israel will be from December 14th an until the interview deadline (December 21st)?
Thanks,
Y.S.
