It seems that only 2 Israelis are coming to NYU Stern this year.

    Greetings to everybody!!!

This question is directed mainly to current or post NYU students.

I need your advice on housing issue, which is very painful in New York.

I am coming alone, so I am willing to compromise on the size of the appartment. Currently, I prefer studio or 1bdr app – no roommates.

Can you elaborate on this issue from your own experience ?

Also On-Campus (Palladium studio app.) vs. Off-Campus housing ?

How complicated this guarantor procedure for off-campus rent ?

How high all the extra payments for an appartment, e.g. taxes, electricity and water bills, internet, etc. can get ?

    Thanks a lot.

My request for alumni/phone interview has been also politely denied.

Tuff guys from the admission committee. :)

Hello New York (or maybe London, we'll see) !

    Hi, Udi & Nili.

First, I'd like to thank you for meeting me their in NYU and showing aroung.

Nili, Thank you for taking me to a lecture. It was an interesting experience attending a lecture in "Financial Reports Analysis" (correct me if I am wrong). I just hope that next time I take this course I will understand a bit more. :)

Udi, Thanks for the coffee and the long conversation we had. You had patience to answer all the questions I askes. (There were quite a few.:)

Second, I got an invitation to an interview from NYU yesterday. According to the e-mail I have to register via the Internet site. Unfortunately, I did not find their an option to have an intervire in Israel. The closest place off-campus is London. Can you suggest what else I can do or the only way is to sign up for interview there?

    Thank you very much.

    Appreciate your help.

    Shalom to all NYU students.

As I mentioned in my previous post I will be visiting NYU Jan 10-13.

Can anyone of the students who stayed in the city during that period to meet me there for a short rendezvous at campus?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi, Yaniv.

    Thanks for the invitation.

After thorough consideration I decided to come anyway.

Can we talk off-line via e-mail?

    Good point.
This is a response I received from the admissions office.

    Dear Alex,
Thank you for your email. The admissions office will be open Mon-Fri during January. We might be on reduced hours, so please give us a call before you stop by (617) 258-5434. Since there are no lectures in the month of January, we can at least offer you MIT Sloan materials and information on a self-guided tour of the school.
    Thank you,

It sounds to me, like: "You can come but we can only give you a hardcopy of a brochure which you could have downloaded from the Internet."

What do you think? Can you translate for me this "politically correct" answer to "plain simple"?

    Hello, ALL.

This message is directed firstly to all the NYU students from the forum.

I am applying for the second round this year (15 Jan).

I know I am running out of time but I still want to visit the school before the application date. I can get to NY around 10-13 Jan. I read on the Internet site that admissions office is open at those dates and starting 03/01 I can even register to "Information session and tour" leaving 16:30 each day.

Can you give me advice how to make this visit more effective for my application and even more importantly for myself ?

    Hello, ALL.

This message is directed firstly to all the MIT students from the forum.

I am applying for the second round this year (10 Jan).

I know I am running out of time but I still want to visit the school before the application date. Unfortunately, the earliest I can get there is around 07-09 Jan. It's very tight schedule but I believe that it's better to see once than to hear1000 times. I also aware of the fact that it's winter vacation but I found out that the admissions office is open.

Can you give me advice how to exploit this visit the best for my application and even more importantly for myself ?

    Hi, ALL!!!

I did my GMAT course in Meitav (only the verbal part).

Irene was GREAT, especially in Sentence Correction.

I took the exam on13/11 and sat at cubic #13 (13 is my lucky number, I guess :) ). Result: q49,v37 = 710. I think it was rather good result for me as I started my journey to GMAT with v28 in computer simulation.

My impression of the real exam: Math – similar level to that of the GMAT Prep. For me it was all about solving fast while doing minimum mistakes. Verbal – it felt like 40%-50% of the questions are Sentence Correction. Texts and Critical Reasoning were not too hard.

    Good Luck for everybody.

    Best Regards,

    Alex Z

    Hi, ALL!!!

I am applying this year to Berkeley-HAAS, so I am very much interested in contacting students or alumni of this school.

So, Berkeley people, if you can hear me, please, respond. I need your help.

P.S. I know that I am writing to the Stanford blog and thus my question is kind of unrelated, but this blog was the closest one (at least geographically) to Berkeley I could find in the forum.

    Thanks a lot.

    2001-2003: Algorithm Engineer at CByond

Technion, MSc, Electrical Engineering – 2005
Technion, BSc, Computer Engineering (Cum Laude) – 1998
