קודם כל מגלה ניתוח הנתונים כי כל עליה של 10 נקודות בציון ה-GMAT בין
710-800 מעלה את סיכויי הקבלה באחוז אחד, כאשר למועמד עם ציון 710 יש 7%
סיכוי להתקבל, בעוד למועמד עם ציון 800 יש סיכוי של 16% להתקבל.
לגבי
ממוצע הציונים בתואר הראשון, הרי שגם כאן GPA גבוה יותר מעלה את סיכויי
הקבלה, כאשר למועמד עם GPA של 3.2-3.3 יש סיכוי של 6%, למועמד עם 3.6 יש 9%
ולמועמד עם GPA של 4.0 יש סיכוי של 14%.
בהשוואה בין שני הגורמים הנ"ל
נראה שבהרוורד שמים יותר דגש על ה-GPA, כאשר עליה בסטיית תקן אחת ב-GPA
מעלה את סיכויי הקבלה ב-30%, בעוד עליה בסטיית תקן אחת ב-GMAT מגדילה את
סיכויי הקבלה רק ב-25%.
גם לסיבוב ההגשה יש השפעה על סיכויי הקבלה,
כאשר כל דחיה לסיבוב מאוחר יותר מפחיתה את סיכויי הקבלה, וכן לנסיון
התעסוקתי של המועמד, כאשר כל שנה נוספת מגדילה את סיכויי הקבלה ב-5%.
בנוסף גילה המחקר כי למועמדים מהודו יש סיכויי קבלה נמוכים במיוחד של 1.5%,
כמו גם למועמדים שלמדו מימון בתואר הראשון וזוכים לסיכוי של 2% בלבד.
לעומתם, למועמדים שעבדו בתחום venture capital או בצבא יש סיכויי קבלה של
16% ו-17% בהתאמה.
סיכויי הקבלה של מועמדים שזומנו לראיון עומדים על
49%, כאשר אם הם הגישו בסיבוב הראשון יש להם סיכוי של 57% ואם בסיבוב השני

What is special about your school? In your eyes, what differentiates your school from others?
- The spirit of MIT – the university has a soul, and for me that was the most amazing thing.
- Focus
on entrepreneurship, being a hub of innovation and out-of-the-box
thinking not only from the MBA classmates but also the brilliant minds
from the engineering schools. - No peer pressure to join stereotypical MBA jobs like consulting or ibanking, a lot of new ideas and pursuits are encouraged.
- Focus on team work.
- Tolerance for failure
Any recent changes in your school? or in the admission process?
MIT
Sloan got some bad press a couple years ago when their yield was higher
than expected, and they had to try and convince a few admitted
candidates to join the next year. They did offer $20K in tuition to
those who agreed to do that, and this is honestly a good problem to
have. But the press wrote about it negatively, and ever since I think
the process has become even more selective, and I think it is more
critical now than ever to show why you are not only a good fit for the
school but why we can be convinced that you will accept the offer if
made one.
Another thing is introduction of the optional/video essay. I
would recommend attempting the video essay if possible because it gives
an opportunity to showcase something very different about the
candidate, and create an informal setting to learn more about who you
really are. It reflects the spirit and energy of the school as well.Can
you share some details about the atmosphere in the school? between
students, between students and faculty? How do you spend your free time?- There
is a palpable sense of mutual respect and admiration amongst all
students, no one is ranked or called out for either being from a wealthy
background or having certain brands on their resume. The students love
the way in which selection process happens and assume there must be
something wonderful about everyone who is there - We
love working on C Functions, which are the most amazing thing ever.
Alternate Thursdays, one of the cultural clubs organizes a show in which
classmates from different cultural backgrounds come together to immerse
themselves in the culture of a region, dance, sing, eat. Sloan sponsors
beer, which is awesome. It’s a great avenue to bond. - Sloan
is not transactional. There is no fee for every mixer or interaction, a
lot of things are school sponsored and encourage everyone to come out
and get to know each other and do stuff together. -
Faculty is all about high thinking. Focus is on bringing out the
essence of a concept, encourage open debate and discussion, provide a
spectrum of perspectives. Assignments and learning are for the most part
meaningful and relevant. If you don’t like a class, you can opt out
late into the semester and it won’t reflect on your academic record
which is just wonderful.
Can you share some details about the area/city?
Cambridge
is a university town. Lots of brilliant young minds, the vibe is very
young, entrepreneurial, energetic and optimistic. Accommodation is
expensive but unaffordable.
Boston/Cambridge has a nice cultural vibe. Lots of art events to attend, very pro-diversity and liberal.
Winters are cold and snowed under but its not windy like Chicago so its quite beautiful if you ask me.Can
you share some details regarding job opportunities and summer
internships for students in your school? How strong is the career
office? Did the school name/brand give you any advantage when looking
for a job? Are there any specific recruiters who mostly recruit from
this school?
Saying you are from MIT or MIT Sloan opens almost every door. Its really upto how focused, proactive and determined you are.
The
Career Office is very good when it comes to consulting, finance, tech
and increasingly marketing jobs. They organize a lot of workshops,
coaching sessions etc. Very helpful.
Career office not that great in traditionally non-MBA sectors like media entertainment, fashion, etc.
There
are some opportunities to get part-funding for doing social impact
internships, but not as much as some other peer schools.
McKinsey,
BCG, Bain, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Genentech, Deloitte, J P
Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Citi, love Sloan, there’s definitely a few more
that I’m missing.How did you deal with the Visa issue?
MIT
International Students Office is wonderful. They made the process
really easy, offered a lot of guidance and I never really felt I was
going to a new country. It was a breeze. I took a ton of documents to my
visa interview, all that the guy asked me was where I was planning to
go to school, I said ‘MIT’ and he just instantly approved it.What did you like about the school/program?
A
lot of things that I have mentioned earlier. Just to be fair, there are
things I think need to improve – the school underplays its branding and
marketing a lot, either due to lack of resources or just the
tech-focused culture where they downplay the glamor. So the sessions by
the Admissions Office are not particularly impressive, and they don’t do
a lot of sessions internationally, but if you can live with that then
you are in for a rollercoaster ride that you will be glad you took.
Sloan
should try and offer more scholarships and loan-forgiveness
opportunities for sure, I got lucky and became a Siebel Scholar and they
have amazing TA/RA opportunities but it is still relatively small in
terms of the number of students it can impactWho will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
Someone
who is liberal, looking for a genuinely engaging experience versus just
doing bschool as a resume check point. Someone with an inquisite mind
and proactive nature and doesn’t expect to be spoon fed or handheld all
the time.
Folks with a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship and
technology will do very well here. Those who need structures not so
well.Any tips for someone who is considering applying to your school?
- It is particularly important to be yourself in the Sloan application, they are not impressed by arrogance or make-believe.
- Highlight what you are passionate about in life and what makes you who you are.
- Show a clear passion for the school, do a lot of research in detail about courses and activities that would benefit you
Understand
what the Sloan mission is all about, they really believe in it, and
mean it. The focus on ethics, diversity and advancement of management
principles is very deeply ingrained in the school. - Higher
analytical ability, passion for data, technology, new and efficient way
of doing things, challenging status quo are all great things to have
for Sloan.

Ross
has a great mix of social life and career focus, it really is the
embodiment of the work hard play hard attitude. People in the school are
very collaborative and the curriculum supports that – either through a
lot of group work (many classes mandate work in groups) or through the
MAP project which teaches students to work on a real life project as a
team. In addition as a very large university with many top 10 programs
students at Ross have numerous opportunities to collaborate with
students from different programs and connect with the largest alumni
network in the U.SAny recent changes in your school? or in the admission process?
As
a public university Michigan's budget is under constant review and as
part of that outstanding loan balance is constantly monitored. In recent
years outstanding loan amount was a concern that led to a policy change
in which loans to international students were not available. It is
recommended that students who apply look into more recent policy and for
alternative option of financing.Can you share some
details about the atmosphere in the school? between students, between
students and faculty? How do you spend your free time?
Ross
is a very fun oriented school and there are a lot of activities
dedicated to students getting to know their classmates. From a weekly

actions can have on the world around them.Can you share

Ross
is a well balanced school when it comes to career options – there are a
lot of opportunities in tech, marketing, consulting and finance. The
career office has great relationships with numerous companies and there
is a good representation of the different industries in the on-campus
recruiting process. There are specific companies that recruit very
heavily on campus due to a strong alumni base in those companies like
Microsoft and Amazon. In addition the career office's approach to
recruiting enables students to try interviewing with different companies
from different industries while maintaining a well balanced system that
wont prevent any opportunities from any students.How did you deal with the Visa issue?
The
school's process of supporting international students makes all the
visa arrangements extremely easy. There is careful documentation
available to all students and face to face support whenever it is
required. This is handled so well that most students dont even see this
as an issueWhat did you like about the school/program?

Michigan
is an amazing school for people who want more than just education, it
is a place that offers a lot but it is up for the student to go out and
find the opportunities that are right for him / her. Its a school for

effort to make their time at school amazing for themselves and their

Really
get to know people at the school and recent graduate and see if you can
envision yourself spending two years with these people because Ross is

UCLA is located in Westwood, on the west side of Los Angeles. It is the
heart of business and culture of Los Angeles. Only an hour flight from
SF, 4 hour drive from Las Vegas, 2-hour drive from San Diego. This
location provides great advantages in contacting business professionals,
companies and attending professional conference.Can
you share some details regarding job opportunities and summer
internships for students in your school? How strong is the career
office? Did the school name/brand give you any advantage when looking
for a job? Are there any specific recruiters who mostly recruit from

See employment report for employers / specific
recruiters – from the top of my head I’d say Google, Deloitte, Mattel,
Amazon, Microsoft, Disney, and more.
In general – Anderson is not
just a finance school, or just a marketing school. The students are from
all backgrounds – from school teachers to investment bankers – and
after Anderson they can transition into anything – tech, consulting,
i-banking, entertainment, and much more. The LA location is a huge
advantage for both tech and entertainment, and the school brand is very
strong in Los Angeles and California.
The Parker Career Center is
incredibly helpful in preparing students for interviews, writing
resumes, networking – they are there to assist with each and every
element of the job search.How did you deal with the Visa issue?
Had an F1 Visa, then was on OPT status, then applied for an H1B and received it (won the Visa lottery).What did you like about the school/program?
By far – the collaborative environment. But also everything I wrote in #1 and #3, as well as the LA location.Who will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
People who are cool, laid back, get stuff done, real people- not fake,
friendly, funny, don’t take themselves too seriously because at some
point you’ll probably wear a funny costume and will be made fun of,

final product. This section requires strong visualization skills and the
ability to maintain track of multiple “images” at a single time.Prior

Being
in New York is a key differentiator, as Columbia students have close
access to interesting class guest speakers, innumerable career
opportunities, and diverse extracurricular and cultural opportunities
around the city.Can you share some details about the
atmosphere in the school? between students, between students and
faculty? How do you spend your free time?
The CBS cluster
structure creates an extremely social environment. Any free time is
filled with events for students to spend time with each other, both on
campus and around the city.Can you share some details about the area/city?
CBS
is located in Morningside Heights, away from the bustle of downtown,
but easily accessible by subway. There are endless restaurants, bars,
shows, and museums at your fingertips—every evening out is a new
experience.Can you share some details regarding job
opportunities and summer internships for students in your school? How
strong is the career office? Did the school name/brand give you any
advantage when looking for a job? Are there any specific recruiters who
mostly recruit from this school?
Recruiting is a very
central part of student life, prioritized above all else. The career
office is well-organized and supportive, staffed by highly experienced
professionals. All of the top consulting firms, investment banks and
CPGs recruit on campus. Given the proximity, CBS students are often
invited to events at the offices of potential employers, giving them far
more exposure and closer relationships than they would have at schools
outside of New York.What did you like about the school/program?
I
really enjoyed the opportunity to get global exposure while at CBS. I
studied abroad for a semester in Argentina, I did a pro bono consulting
project in Mexico, and I took a class that studied global business in
Costa Rica. I also traveled with clustermates to Russia, Israel, and
Southeast Asia.Who will especially enjoy this school? who will be a good fit to the school?
CBS
is great for anyone interested in consulting or banking, anyone who
thrives in a big city environment, and anyone who lives by “work hard,
play hard.”Any tips for someone who is considering applying to your school?
Being
a CBS student is a 24/7 lifestyle, so think about not only whether the
academic opportunities interest you, but whether you envision yourself
in CBS’s active social environment and whether you thrive in a big city
