Eliko,
I'm sorry to hear about Chicago.
Good luck with Wharton! (and L.A. in case the first won't work out…)

hi dudi
got an admission offer from UCLA as well. if u are in israel please contact and lets meet (do u know who r the other israelies of the class of 2008?)
To: All, eliko, LPOW
a question to the respected forum – UNC with chances to get a fellowship, UCLA, VIRGINIA – what would u have chosen if u were accepted to all three?
i know its a subjective matter but i would like it u can share ur knowledge with me, my heart tells me that UCLA is the right place for me but a fellowship offer puts me in a dilema (didn't get the fellowship yet but it is in negotiation).

Hi Dovi,
first of all congratulations – that is great news! I think that UCLA is a perferct place and when coming to choose from second tear – meaning top 11-15 , I think that the location makes it clear. I also think that the UCLA brand would be stronger than the other places you named and this is also important to your future. I will be going to L.A in the second admitted event on April so update me if you are going to.
Anyway,Good luck man and talk soon!

Congratulations Dovi!
I think all 3 schools are widely respected and have good reputation, though if I were you – I would choose UCLA without much hesitation.
Hope this helps,
L

Dovi,
Given your interest, I would choose Darden. UNC is not worth it even with a scholarship.
While UCLA is a great school, the east coast opportunities are quite limited.

Hi All,
I was accepted to Haas R2.
I will be glad to talk to anybody accepted to Haas R1 or 2:
Thanks,
Ronen

Do you mean west coast?
UCLA is as far from the east coast as you can get…
To: Laker
An interesting fact this year I think:
10 people have made it to UCLA this yearup to round II.
Seems that Israel brand is strong there this year.

I meant east coast. Most companies in the US are based in the east coast and they tend not to recruit on the west coast, unless they have a regional office there. To: eliko
That is interesting. Do you think that is the case in UCLA alone or does it
express, perhaps, a more positive attitude towards Israelis all around?
To: danteleman2002
hi dan
thanks 4 the advice- i chose UCLA and i'll take the "risk" of finding a job. the atmosphere there is nothing in comparison to almost all other universities i applied to (besides DUKE :) ) and lets not forget that we are 10 israelies this year at the UCLA and that's a strong brand.
thank's againn
dovi
To: Laker
have u applied to the class of 2008? what is your status ?
To: danteleman2002
Hi Dan,
Following your answer to Dovi, I will appreciate if you can give farther information for the reasons that make Darden a better alternative than UNC. I am currently in my research process and I attend to apply to one of those schools.
By the way, I already decided to apply to Duke (R1 Sept’ 07).
Thank in advance,
Moshe.

Are there any admitted second round HBS applicants?
Please post if you are, don't be shy
To: Laker
Well ,
2 facts that I am sure off:
1)Chicago accepted 13 Israelies up to now, Wharton more 12 or more, and UCLA 10. So it seems Israelies are a strong brand this year.
2) The number of application has risen in many schools. Haas for example have recieved 30 % more applications this year up to now.
So it seems that the MBA brand is also stronger in the US this year and therefore the competition is higher.
Good luck
eliko
To: mb3
Moshe,
UNC is regional school and does not attract top companies. Recruiting is difficult. Brand name is not strong.
Darden (Virginia) is a leading school with good career opportunities, especially in banking/ consulting. Not that strong in marketing (from recruiter perspective).
Hope this helps,

To all the newly admitted applicants of HBS, heartfelt congratulations.
We, the r1 HBS admits, are trying to organize a meeting that will take place on April 6th. If you are interested to participate, please send me your details to [email protected]
The meeting will be a great opportunity to exchange views and tips, and of course to know each other.

To: dovifransis
No. I plan to apply in the next application season (class of 2009).
Good luck with your new school. I think you chose wisely.
To: All
Looks like wharton will drop its non disclosure policy for the class of 2008. Well I guss you cant stop the tide… any ideas if Stanford will follow?
To: LPOW
SCRIPT>
I hope not…BTW : It should be noted that even in schools that have a discloser grades policy – almost no recruiter will ask you about them. So, unless you are complete failure, you don't need to worry about it.
NO MORE BEER FOR WHARTON :)
