A little bit about me and my application:
I am 28, have a financial professional background. have been living and working in NY in the past 3 years.
I submitted my application in mid August and received an invite to interview at the end of September. Regardless your location, Columbia does not conduct the interview themselves. so although I am in NY I was interviewed by one of the school's alumni. The interview was about 1.5 hours, it was more like a conversation than an interview, I think mainly because we had a good chemistry and a lot to talk about. I happily received their decision 3 days after the interview took place.
