Hi,

I need to prepare for an exemption exam in a statistics course (at Duke), and I was wondering if anybody might have one of these 3 books for me to buy/borrow:

1. A Brief Course in Business Statistics / Mendenhall, Beaver, and Beaver

2. data Analysis, Regression, and Forecasting / Schleifer and Bell

3. Statistics for Business and Economics / McClave, Benson, and Sincich

Omer,

I'd really like to go to the Blue Devil Weekend, meeting the students and faculty I'm going to spend so much time with. It's also going to be a lot fun too (Especially the "Drinking Beer and then Running" event :) ).

But….I can't bring my self to spending so much money just for a weekend, since I still hold my job.

Anyway, I think that attending such a weekend is really important if you're seriously undecided between two schools, and seeing the place can make you realize where your heart tends to be. This is not my case.

My fingers are crossed for you regarding the Fuqua Scholarship, so I don't have any left for your H/W applications, but lots of good luck for that too :)

Hi Omer, congratulations to you too!

I applied in round 2, and had to wait 3 weeks for the scholarship decision, but I didn't wait sitting, rather walking around nervously :)

I read an interview with Duke's financial aid director which said that there really isn't anything that you can do to help getting a scholarship – they just use your application to make a decision, so I didn't do anything, but that's me.

Just wanted to share that I just got my scholarship letter from Duke. They were kind enough to give me 18K.

So no more excuses for me, gotta go to business school :)
