    Hi Gilam and other members,

First I gotta congratulate You and all the members of the forum on their generous effort in providing vital and essential info. And now to business:

I want to study in London, as I aim to working in the city so I reckon I should focus on British business schools. I am 29, and spent the last 2 years in Melbourne, Australia working in Investment Banking (equity debt markets), after finishing my internship with one of the leading law firms in Tel Aviv. Prior to that I worked for 3 years as a bonds trader in one of the leading Israeli banks. I am a captain in the army (combat unit) and finished Tel Aviv University with LLB (score:80, as I was working full time), and have done significant community service while at Uni.

    A few enquiries:

    1. Without taking the GMAT, and without speculating on my future score, how would you asses my strength as a candidate for LBS? Can my overseas exp. could be leveraged to show a global prospective, commitment etc.?

    2. What sorts of other options do I have in order to secure a good job in the city?

    3. Considering application in sep 07, will I be considered a grandpa?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jonathan

    hi gilam,

at first i'd like to congratulate you and the other guys on the forum as you are doing a tremendous effort. i would like a brief assessment on my options regarding MBA. Naturally, i'm aware that it's very subjective and influenced by so many factors and criteria that it's almost impossible to give a defendant picture, but anyway…here are the highlights of my background and my career and study objectives:

    background:

I'm m/27,curruntly i'm doing my 1 year internship at a top 10 israeli law firm, practicing corporate law, securities, Domestic and American financial markets and prospectuses/

I graduated from TAU faculty of Law with an average of ~80. Mostly due to the fact that i worked full time(2 years) as a foreign securities trader in one of the large Israeli banks. Apart from that i participated in managing a special program sponsored by an american fund which allowed underprivileged teenagers to learn the basics of the Law. prior to that i worked at my first year at a start up company as information analyst.

Army service – officer, 4 years (1 keva) with the intelligence – managing and commanding a team with vast responsibilities.

apart from that i spent alot of time traveling so i might add that to my cultural background. Apart from English i have good command in Spanish and some german.

    Objectives:

My main interests are Investment banking/Securities Dealing/hedge funds. I think i will be able to bring added value combining exp. background in Law

and of course a future MBA. My first choice would be LBS but of course good American univ. are always in the ball game. Haven't done my gmat but i wouldn't expect 700, being realistic i would say 650-670 is more likeable. with these kind of background where do you think i might be excepted? and which schools are the best for me regarding my future intentions?

i'd like to add that the earliest i could start is at the age of 29, is it considered fine?

thanks for reading such a long post but i did try to pour in as much info as possible.

    Nitzan
