עידכנתי את כרטיס החבר שלי. הכרטיס המעודכן:

אני כאן כדי לעזור ל"דורות הבאים" ואשמח לענות על שאלות

I am a Tuck 2006 graduate and I was never interested in any of the traditional MBA jobs. I am assuming that there are quite a few people out there who are interested in finding out about the more entrepreneurial/off the beaten path things you can do with an MBA and I would love to help if I can.

Naturally I will also gladly field any questions about Tuck or the MBA experience in general.

    בהצלחה לכולם,

    Ohad,
The university determines the type of visa you will have and there is no way to negotiate the type of visa with the embassy.
If the university doesn’t issue you a ds-2019 (sponsorship for j) on its own accord, you need to arrange an employee sponsorship letter, send it to the university and then they can issue the same form.
One problem that may arise is the amount of loan you will be approved for. Some universities will deduct the amount written in your employee sponsorship letter from the total amount you can borrow through their pre-approved arrangements with banks.
Since each university has slightly different procedures, I recommend checking with the International office.

    Hope this helps

First, good luck with the process.
As far as I managed to find out – it depends.
In most traditional Israeli companies there is much more emphasis on what you did rather than where you studied. However, there is growing awareness to top MBA's in some industries.
Take VC’s, Consulting firms or parts of the banking industries in Israel for example, they have a high awareness to the value (due to MBA's already working there who have been through the foreign schools and who know what these programs are worth, or due to high exposure to the "brand oriented" US market).
So, the answer to your question basically revolves around the industry that you see yourself working in after graduation (or upon return to Israel).

    Ofek,
A friend of mine interviewed for Yale last year in Israel with an alum, so it is possible to interview in Israel.
With that said, I highly recommend to actually visit the schools you are planning to attend in order to really get the feel of the place.
    Best of luck

Although I am not Gilam I thought I would chime in…

My impression is that as far as diversity goes you will be a good candidate.

In my class, for instance, we have a guy who worked as a photographer for the Washington post, a couple of cheffs and some more.

As long as you will be able to show the school how your contribution to the class will be unique and relevant, you will have a strong case (and don't discount your managerial experience – even though it isn't "pure" business experience – not everyone needs to be a banker/consultant).
