Sloan have their essay questions online:

However, I don't think that the online application for MIT is available.

    Good Luck

Yes. Columbia is in my list but I have to see how I can squeeze all these essays together with everything else in life: family+friends, work and hobbies.

Do they have the new Columbia essays?

Can you please post them here.

    Thanks!

These Stanford & MIT essays are from the 2004 application but we're aiming for 2005.

Stanford clearly state that these are 2004 essays and they say that each year the essays slightly change. The new application should be out in August.

MIT – maybe they keep their essays the same every year. I don't know.

Columbia – have you tried openning an online account? They might have the new questions there though I'm not certain.

HBS & Columbia published their essays about two weeks ago – look in the Admissions section in the schools' sites.

    Hi,

I'm no expert but I do have a cousin who graduated from Harvard Law School. What I heard is that the admissions criteria relate basically to your statistics – undergraduate GPA, LSAT (like GMAT but for law school) and some essays. Unlike bschools – the top law schools will hardly admit people without extremely high GPAs or top LSAT scores. I also think that the essays you write have to be eloquently put (use euphemism!) and reflect your ability to state a case.

    Good Luck

    Hi,

First of all I should say I'm no expert but here is what I know:

You are required to submit the course work for each degree (including grades for each course) and calculate the GPA for each degree separetely. I'm not sure but I think that if you did your BA long time ago they will take into consideration the more recent grades.

I know that Columbia has a conversion table:

    color=#800080 http://www0.gsb.columbia.edu/mba/admissions/apply/instructions/gpa

For other schools you usually have an excel sheet you have to fill in with all your course work (separately for each degree you earned) and state the 0-100 GPA. They usually prefer to leave the conversion for the admissions since it is not a scientific conversion but rather depends on the rigor of your studies and rarely the school in which you studied (different universities and different colleges).
