I dont know about anybody else who got in. I am still waiting to hear from other schools.

I dont have any tips to share, i do not know the school to pinpoint what worked for me. My sister is a Columbia graduate so that might helped. I also had a great interview, significantly better than the others.

הרשימה יכולה להתארך כמובן, ואני מניח שהיא לא מחדשת עבורך הרבה. בכל זאת, באופן יחסי לבתי ספר אחרים, הייתי שם דגש משמעותי על היכולות האנליטיות, אם באמצעות הדגשת מאפיינים בנסיון התעסוקתי, אם באמצעות התואר הראשון וייתכן אף שבאמצעות דגשים רלבנטיים ל Career goals. הביה"ס הוא המוביל בעולם בבתחום ה Finance, הרבה מן הקורסים מניחים יכולות אנליטיות חזקות, ועל כן יש לייצר את הרושם שהנך מועמדת הניחנת ביכולות אלה. בנוסף, הדגש על עבודת צוות כאן הוא עצום – שוב, הייתי מציין דוגמאות מהעבר, צבא עבודה וכו,. כמו כן, בעיקר עקב היותנו ישראלים, הפן היזמי שבתוכנו ראוי להדגשה יתרה. לא לשכוח להבליט את היותך אדם מאד מגוון, תחביבים, היכן תתרמי לחברייך לכיתה – תנסי ליצור רושם של בן אדם מעניין, רחב אופקים, שכדאי להיות במחיצתו (אני בטוח שאת כזאת).

I would be happy to hear other opinions about the Wharton presentation:
I am applying to R2 (will send everything next week) and I must say I was very disappointed. On one hand, I think the fact that so many current students came demonstrates the high % of Israeli as well as their excitement with the school. On the other hand, the all evening was somewhat poorly organized, deadly boring (I mean the presenter seemed like a nice guy but not the best choice for presenting), and the messages were quite lame and ordinary.
Above all, I didn’t sense most of the Israeli guys are people I would be excited to work with or are especially impressive on other dimensions.
I am sure the admits would be quite prejudice, but I wonder if it strengthen or weaken your propensity to choose (if you will have choice) Wharton.

I am probably bias, but i feel the exact opposite of what you describe…

I was mainly concerned about living in Philadelphia, which is somewhat isolated, but heard encouraging info. I liked the people i met, and felt i would be happy to be a part of that community.

The session strengthened my propensuty for Wharton, but I am waiting for answers from other schools before i decide.

Well the presentation itself was a little bit poor, but I think that this wasn't the main issue. One will hear the same things in those presentation.

The main part is speaking to the students oneXone. This is where you see the difference and get the most important information. So, the advantage of this evening was the ability to talk to a large number of students personally.

We'll see what is going to be tomorrow (1/1/04) in the Kellog meeting.

I thought I would add a short notion regarding scholarships in Chicago GSB:

In the GSB there are relativly a lot of scholarships- *) 1/3 of the students receive $10,000 scholarship based on high GMAT

*) There are ~ 25 different full scholarships around based on different skills

*) There are many more specific scholarships: entrepreneurship scholarship, accounting, finance, marketing, developed countries etc'

*) During the school year we are being offered (we need to apply) quite a few other scholarships that Alumni are donating, which can be from full 2 years scholarship to several 1000$

Relativly Chicago is quite generous in this aspect – I received several $10,000 scholarship from the school
