Well, the current milkround session is for the second year.

Our starts next term (January). I am expecting two presentations a day, by consulting firms and banks, and lots of free food.

Since I am interested in a job in the industry free food is the most important part of the milkround for me. I will use this time for networking networking networking.

I'd be happy to tell you more about it when it starts.

about 30% of students get a job w/ industry.

Finance is NOT my direction (hence, I am spending time here, instead of studying to the final on Saturday). I am looking for marketing/strategy/business development/GM role. it all depends on the day you are asking. I keep changing my mind every day…

Looking for a job in industry when at LBS means a lot of networking and "avodat raglaim". The MBA culture in europe isn't as established as it is the US. many FMCG companies fon't hire MBAs in europe, while the same companies in the US will hire only mbas for brand management roles.

There are less structured internship programs. You need to present it as a summer project, short term contract etc.

The jobs are mainly for Europe, but there are some jobs for asia the states. Again, you own networking efforts can only expand these opportunities.

2) All applicants admitted to the school have been interviewed
3) Interviews are application-based (your interviewer has read your application)
4) Interviews are typically conducted by a member of the adcom
Percentages By The Numbers
Number of applicants to HBS last season: 6,552
Number of applicants offered interviews: 1500 (approx)
Number of interviewed applicants admitted: 1,048
Number of admitted students who matriculated: 914

Percentages
Percentage of HBS applicants offered an interview: 23%
Percentage of interviewed applicants offered admission: 69%
Percentage of admitted applicants who matriculate (yield): 89%

As you can see, the key with HBS is to make the interview cut, since they accept a very high percentage of applicants they interview. In contrast, a school like Wharton uses the interview in a very different way – interviewing 45-50% of applicants but admitting only 30-40% of those applicants interviewed.

Well it seems that 60 percent are interviewed(said in their site),

and from aringo site we know that 23% of all applicants are accepted.

so about 40 percent of those interviwd are accepted I guess.

Hi Yonis,

The number of Israelis who are admitted to HBS each year seems to be (to me at least) on the rise. Class of 2007 includes 8 Israelis, Class of 2006 5-6 Israelis (not sure), and few years ago only 2 Israeli students were admitted to HBS. So, if this trend continues, then maybe 10 or more Israelis will attend the class of 2008. This is a mere speculation, so better ask Gilam.
