אל דאגה, המטרה של הבדיקות של קרול היא רק לוודא שהקורות חיים שלך לא מומצאים (הם יוצרים קשר עם החברות ומוודאים שאכן עבדת שם בתפקיד המדובר וזהו). אם יש אי התאמה הם מתקשרים אליך קודם לוודא שאין בעיה. אף אחד לא יפסול את המועמדות שלך על זה. אני לדוגמא עבדתי בחברת סטארט אפ שנמכרה והם לא הצליחו ליצור איתה קשר אז הם התקשרו אלי על המקום יצרתי קשר עם מי שהייתה מנהלת כוח האדם "בתקופתי" דיברתי איתה שתי דקות ומסרתי את מספר הטלפון שלה לנציגה שהמתינה על הקו וזהו. תוך חמש דקות הכל נגמר. בנוסף הם שלחו מכתב לחברה שבה עבדתי באותה תקופה וביקשו שהם יחתמו להם שאני אכן עובד בחברה.

Hi,

From what I see around me, those who are sponsored get the full tuition. More than that – it differs. Some get only a laptop, some get flights home, some get some assisstance with living expences.

They are usually asked to commit for 2-4 years, when ususally they can do the summer internship somewhere else (not always, though). Also, some of them can cancel their commitment by paying back the full amount to the company.

Also, how does the commitment work in terms of fixing a salary and a poistion in advance?

I assume there is a very soft side to this and it is probably all about negotiations skills. I wondered if someone has some tips for that.

לגבי השאלה שלך על סיכוי הקבלה לתעשיות השונות, אני יכול להעיד על MIT SLOAN.

מבחינת MANAGEMENT CONSULTING לדעתי SLOAN הוא מהמובילים.

בשנת 2005 כ80-90 בוגרים התקבלו לשלוש החברות המובילות (מקנזי, BCG, ביין). לשם השוואה מדובר במספרים הקרובים לכמות הבוגרים שהתקבלו מוורטון (בערך 90 בוגרים שהתקבלו) ולכמות הבוגרים שהתקבלו מהרווארד (כ140 בוגרים שהתקבלו על פי ההערכה שלי שמבוססת על שיחות עם מגייסים ועל מידע באינטרנט). בMIT- יש כ360 סטודנטים בעוד שבהרווארד וורטון מעל 800 סטודנטים. תעשה את החשבון לבד.

אגב אם יש מישהו מהסטודנטים / בוגרים שיש לו מספרים יותר מדוייקים, אשמח לשמוע אותם.

לדעתי גם מבחינת INVESTMENT BANKING, בנוסף לבתי הספר בניו-יורק וורטון שהם מאד מאד מאד חזקים, לסלואן יש אחוזים מעולים אם מסתכלים על מספר ההצעות יחסית למספר הסטודנטים בתוכנית. כאן אין לי מספרים יותר מדוייקים לצערי מאחר ולא דיברתי עם מגייסים מהתחום.

מבחינת HEDGE FUNDS הארוורד הוא המלך לפי השמועות…

Are you sure you didn't double count ?

By the way the same document states that roughly 10% went to do I-Banking & Brokerage in 2004.

Tax deduction in Israel for foreign MBA tuition?

Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone has any personal experience deducting on their Israeli income tax, their foreign MBA tuition? I know there are new tax regulations which allow for a relatively small amount to be deducted for students at a clsoed list of Israeli colleges and universities. A part of my MBA finance plan, I wanted to work in Israel from Jan to August, and then start my foreign MBA in Sept. I want to deduct the first year tuition from the tax I pay in Israel for the first 8 months of the year.
