Indeed most universities just leave it at that. (I asked the same question a few days ago..:)
What do you mean by "just the major"? Did you do a double major? Which one?
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #748Thank you Natalie and Ann very much – have a great day!
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #739Thank you very much Natalie, that is very kind of you. Will it be ok though if it won't be today?
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #737Ann,
I understand that, but I wish to know if it only reflects on my "academic abillity" (which is constituted by other factors as well) or maybe it also reflects on the entire application (i.e. the academic institute attended).
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #729Natalie,
I's sorry to dwell on this but it is very important to me and I want to be sure I understand you perfectly – the educational background is used as a parameter ONLY to assess the academic abillities of a candidate – NOT the whole application or the candidate itself?
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #718Natalie,
I understand, what you are saying is that you use the school as one paramater to establish a candidate's academic abbilities?
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #710hmm..I think my follow up question got lost somehow..i'll write it again –
Thank you Natalie. As I gather, the more rigorous the program the better right? However, if I am speculating correctly, someone from a less rigour program with high GPA will be just as good as someone from a more rigour program with lower GPA? I would like to sharpen this point – the academic institution you graduated from reflects only on your academic prowess – NOT on your entire application as a candidate?
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #706Thanks Natalie,
As I gather, the more rigorous – the better right? However, if I'm speculating correctly, someone from a less rigorous program but with outstanding GPA will be as good as someone from a more rigorous program with a lower GPA? Does the academic rigour of the program effect how you look at the application as a whole or just the academic prowess of it?
בתגובה ל: Cornell MBA Chat #701Hello Ms Grinblat and Ms Richards,
I would like to ask a question regarding how you view the academic institutes Israeli applicants graduated from. Is there a preference towards certain schools? If so, how does it come into effect?
Thanks!

OK..thanks!

Hi Gilam!
Thank you for the prompt response. Why would MIT differ in their approach to where you went to school in Israel? Would top-10 MBA programs take the same attitude as MIT?
kind regards,
Fawkes
בתגובה ל: ארכיון 1: שאל את ארינגו: תהליך הקבלה #675Hi Gilam,
First, may I say that it is very informative indeed to read your intake on the subject of admittance – thank you for giving your time.
I would like to ask you to elaborate a little more on the subject of the school from which a candidate graduated. I've noticed you said schools abroad do not care much for the reputation of the school in Israel – does this also extend to studying at a "Michlala" versus studying at a university? If they do care for that subject (and I'm specifically interested in the US schools' point of view), how does it come into effect? Does your GPA gets lowered if you studied not at a university?
Or to put it as a hypothetical question – two candidates which learned the same subject, have about the same application and GPA yet one graduated from University (does it matter which?) and the other from a michlala (does it matter which?) – will there be a definite preference to the former?
And last question though it might seem trivial – how do you convert the Israeli method of grades into GPA?
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Fawkes
