Problem with no W/E its much much harder to find a job afterwards, especially if you dont have a visa. Remember an MBA is not a passport to a dream job it just builds on your previous strengths. Work 2-4 years at a leading company in Israel and then apply (e.g. McK, Loreal, P&G, Intel, Citybank etc)

LBS and Insead play a lot on their global student body. It seems like a fashionable thing lately (see Kellogg and Columbia's sites & the FT on business schools) do you thing that in the long run that might propel the European schools helping LBS & Insead gain recognition in the US?

    Thanks!

I must say that looking at LBS it seems that they are investing a lot in industry (40% of graduates went there & CMC claims its a focus area). Usually industry is reluctant to provide visas (see GE's CL Programme) so HSMP is the only hope….

What kind of problems do you expect? I heard its automatic, you just need to file a request.

A lot of people who graduated found work in the UK where the visa process is a it easier (especially now)

Check HSMP program – i am really hoping to get it (its quite automatic)

Please check the HSMP programme you can easily get a visa for a year w/o a sponser, most MBAs qualify.

Also partners of an MBA student can easily get a work permit in the UK.

My questions is more about quality and status. I think that the UK is one of the more freindly sites from a visa perspective (surely better than the US)

(look up UK home office HSMP policy)

Not true, US visas are harder to get than in England check the HSMP programme, you get a visa w/o a sponser!

    Gilam,

How do the European schools compare with the US ones, specifically LBS & Insead, also how do the two europeans compare to each other?

Nobody pays it back in 2-3 years. $ 100k is 65$ net, you will probably be living from $40k… so a 5 years payback is more realistic. (dont forget interest)

But yes its not worth returning before you worked for 2 years, especially that one does an MBA for the international exposure & potential blue chip w/e…otherwise TAU is as good.

How many Israelis made it in at LBS?

    Gilam,

I have been following your thread and really appreciate your work on these sites.

Hope you could help me with a dilemma I have,

I have been accepted to a top 10 school (some rankings give it top 5 but that doesn’t mean much – applied only to one because of location constraints) but was offered to relocate with my current employer to the US and work on an intersecting project for 2 years.

I am sure this project can develop my professional skills, enabling me to apply in two years time (with no location constraints) with a very sound professional background (4 years w/e +3 years army service)

My question: does your w/e have any effect on finding a job out of an MBA program, or are 2 years as good as 4? (I had an interesting experience during those two years so I have a great story to tell).

Is age an issue? I am currently 26, will I be a tad old in two years? (I understand H&S are focusing on younger applicants – will other schools like W follow suit?)

    Thanks for your help!.

Are the Israelis older than others at HBS, Will there be an issue with HBS now that they are targeting younger applicants?

    Thanks!

    thanks!

Everyone is talking about the stardust you need to be accepted to HBS, could you give some examples of this in the Israeli context?

    Thanks for your help!
