הי לימור,

שמי טל ואני סטודנט שנה ראשונה בקורנל.

המקרה שלי מזכיר קצת את זה שלך, כי גם אני עזבתי את מקום העבודה שלי בדיוק שנה וחצי לפני התחלת הלימודים שלי בארה"ב.

עקרונית אין עם זה שום בעיה! במקום העבודה הנוכחי שלך את עובדת זמן סביר, ולא קופצת כל שנה בין עבודות. מה שועדות הקבלה ישמחו לראות זה שאת עוברת למקום עבודה חדש שיקדם אותך להשגת המטרות שלך בחיים.

בעיות שכן יכולות להתעורר הן בנושא ההמלצות ובנושא איך להודיע למעסיק החדש שלך שאת עומדת לעזוב. בתהליך הקבלה תצטרכי להציג לפחות שתי המלצות. בדר"כ עדיף שאחת מהן תהיה מהמנהל הנוכחי שלך (למרות שזה לא מחייב). אם אין לך שני ממליצים שאינם מהמקום החדש, תהיה לך בעיה א. לבקש מהם המלצה, ב. להראות בהמלצה שהם מספיק מכירים אותך כדי להמליץ עלייך.

I am a first year student at Cornell Johnson School.

our school offer a dual degree program with the ILR (Industrial and Labor Relations) school at Cornell university. That is one of the world leading schools for HR issues. if you don't want to do the dual degree, you can study for MBA at the Johnson School and take up to (if i recall correct) 15 credits (out of total required of 60) at other schools at Cornell university, including the ILR school.

אני למדתי במכללה למנהל, ממוצע 82 והתקבלתי לקורנל…

כלומר, לא חובה GPA בשמיים. אתה צריך להיות ממוקד בבי"ס שאתה הולך להרשם אליו, לדעת בדיוק מה אתה רוצה לעשות בחיים, לכתוב חיבורים מעולים ולדעת למה ביה"ס שאתה נרשם אליו מתאים לך ומה אתה יכול לתרום.

מעבר לזה, קורות חיים והפגנת מחויבות.

הסר דאגה מליבך הענין חישוב ה GPA. בתי הספר שתירשם אליהם כבר ישקללו לבד את הציון שלך. כאשר אתה נרשם, אז האוניברסיטה בה למדת מתבקשת לתאר את סולם הציונים הנהוג בה, ואז ה ADCOM יודעים איך להתייחס לזה.
