    Hi Roy,

Your reply was very insightful. As I was under the impression that there must be a strong relation between what one has done hitherto rather what one has learnt in order to determine if one's career goals are plausible.

    Thanks again,

    Yuval.

    Hi,

As far as I know, most schools require that you not only hold a European citizenship but also that you live in the 3 years that precede your attending the school (they do not consider studying abroad as 'living') in the European union to be qualified for some considerations.

    Hi Gilam,

I hope you could be of assistance in the following issues:

    (1) After reviewing some of the brochures of the Top 10 US B-Schools and reading Mautauk's book I noticed that US B-schools do not appreciate a metamorphosis as far as one's career goals are concerned but would rather like to see some continuum based on what one have done hitherto. This does not apply to LBS where they consider a career shift a legitimate reason to apply.

I have a BSc in CS and Math and a 3 years experience in this field. Although I do not dismiss pursuing a managerial career in the Hi Tech Area, my primary goal is to make a shift into consulting and its relations. What would you suggest ?

    (2) What part should I take in the reference process once I have notified my appraisers ?

(i.e. I have emphasized that it should be a helpful tool rather than a critic one, but still, could I influence its exact content without being cheeky ?)

    Thanks a lot,

    Yuval.

    So Deska…

I gather that since LBS offers a rather convenient loan program (via HSBC) which is not limited to its citizens, makes it easier for me…

IchiBan (My japanese is a bit rusty :-)),

I admit that at the moment LBS seems the best option as far as funding such studies is concerned. I wonder, though, since a non-us citizen cannot apply for a US loan (unless a US citizen co-signs as a collateral…) how on earth one puts one's hand on such amounts?

I think a have a fair chance at the US but the financial burden that accompanies it seems unbearable.

After looking very thoroughly into what financial options us international fellows have, I got a pretty dim picture. Does anybody have a good idea (to this very trivial question) as to what scholarship/loans are available to non-us citizens who apply for the top tier B-shcools ?

    Hi Gilam,

I have recently graduaded the Hebrew University in Computer Sciences and Math at an average of 88.56. I have worked in intel for approximately 1.5 years and I have been working in Amdocs for also relatively 1.5 years. As I am about to commence an M.Sc in computer science I am pondering heavily of persuing an MBA in England (Either LBS or LSE, preferably LBS). I am about to take the GMAT in 3 months time. I feel obligated to mention that the courses I have taken in my B.Sc were relatively hard and rigorous to explain my good but not excellent average.

I will be most appreciative if you could relate to the following questions:

    (1) how would you consider my chances of addmission ?

    (2) The LSE asks for GRE rather than GMAT. Is there any chance they would settle for the GMAT ?

    (3) As I worked in Intel in a full time job my during my studies I had rather poor grades. After reprioritizing my goals I quit Intel and dedicated myself to my studies where I virtually started the B.Sc all over again only to conclude it in less than 3 years time. Should I mention this anywhere as a virtue of ambition and stamina ?

    (3) What are my propspects when the IVY League or similar is considered ?

    Thanks,

    Yuval.
