Hi Gilam,

I have been following the forum (especially reading) for a couple of months now and your job here is remarkable.

I have a question regarding a low score on the verbal part of the GMAT.

I received a 25 score on the verbal part, and I am sure it will raise concerns.

How can I strengthen this weak point ? besides the obvious, of doing the GMAT again.

In addition I got a 5 on the AWA and 283 on the TOEFL . Can these points strengthen my application ?

I am quite sure I can improve the verbal part, but I I'd do it again only as a last resort.

Any advice/ideas on the issue are appreciated

Thanks for your previous answer.

My wife was accepted to UVa with a nice scolorship + full tuition into a Phd program, however UVa insist that they can not sponsor her (and me) for a J visa, and only an F visa would be available for us.

My question is, do you know any international students that were sponsored by UVa for a J visa ?

Are you familiar with this policy ?

Another question that I have is whether it is possible to find a job with out a working permit (F visa will not enable me to ask for a working permit)?

I would appreciate any more information and suggestions on how to negotiate the visa issues with UVa

Hello Ohad,

From what I know, it is not so easy to get a J1 visa as a student.

The schools are not so happy to sponsor you for a j1 visa, and in addition one should have initially some sort of scolorship.

Furthermore, most schools issues the I20 or DS2019 only after the first payment.

I think D is the correct answer

Powers of observation : X of Y , the subject is X and is plural so, make is needed , A B C are eliminated and we are left with D and E

The powers of observation alone can not make the letters a group as E states.

so only D is left and it looks correct

My wife registered to the university of Virginia for a P.h.d in psycology

and I wanted to ask you some questions regarding Charlottesville.

Is there any Hi tech indiustry in the area? Hardware in particular ? any chance of finding a job in the area as an hardware engineer ?

Hi Gilam (or anybody else who knows)

I have seen that Babson college is very strong in entrepreneurship,

always ranked 1'st in that category in US news.

Other than that what are the strong sides of the school ?

Is it considered a top program in the US ?

It seems a little strange that it is not mentioned more frequently.

Does anybody know what is the importance of the AWA part in the GMAT ?

What is considered a grade that would not be a concern (for a top MBA program) ?

are there minimum grades for admission?

שלום לכולם! הצטרפתי לפורום לפני כמה ימים והבנתי שאני צריך לספר קצת על עצמי, אז קודם כל כמה דברים כלליים:
אני בן 29 מחיפה, לומד כרגע ל GMAT ומתכנן להתחיל ללמוד כנראה בעוד שנתיים.

היום אני עובד כמהנדס חומרה בחברת סטארט אפ בתפקיד מהנדס VLSI. למדתי בפקולטה להנדסת חשמל בטכניון סיימתי בממוצע 81.

בצבא הייתי בחיל הים, שירתתי כחובש ימי (רפואת צלילה ורפואה ימית).

אני כרגע עובד על ה-GMAT ומתענין באפשרות של MBA בחו"ל.

אחד מסימני השאלה שיש לי בנושא של MBA בחו"ל הוא הקושי להתקבל לתוכנית מובילה ולממן את הלימודים.

אני מקווה לתרום לקהילת הפורום לפחות 20 הודעות בשנה הקרובה, בעיקר בצורת שאלות לפחות בזמן הקרוב.
