Hi,FEB and MGB are 2 of the best classes. FEB is a lot of work, as in most entr. classes.
I felt that although I dont have even one entr. bone in my body these are the best classes to get a well rounded overview of all business aspects.highly recommended.

it depends which EU passport yuo have. I think for Romanaian and Bulgarian there some constraints.We were there on my husbands POlish passport. For a year we were on a temporary visa and then we got our visa for 5 years. No problems at all.
for the non EU family members it does take ages to get the visa sorted out, although they can work during the process.

You are entitled for NHS on whatever visa you are here.
Unless you have kids I dont think you need private insurance. If you insist, try BUPA. Private insurance in most cses wont provide better care, but quicker. You will need to visit your GP anyway to get referred to the private specialist for the insurance to cover it.

Yes.. EEA2… I am very familiar with it.
First you should get the EEA family permit in Israel. Than when you are here – send the forms and documents and start waiting. I am already waiting for 8 months. you can ask your passports back and you get a letter that allows you come into the country while in process. very simple, but lengthy.

as a student we both were on my visa (Israeli passport) and when graduated we switched to the Polish apssport my husband is carrying. so here are some insights:
as students, you would be better off with the Israeli passport (no nede to pay council tax for example…). if you stay on the israeli passport after graduation you need to go through the HSMP or what ever the new process is called.
After graduation I applied for EEA2 which is a residncy card for 5 years, based on being a married to an EU citizen. except for the fact it was (is) a very very lengthy process, it is pretty straight forwrad (although for Polish citizens there is an extra stage of one year on FMRS visa). When I started working I still didnt have the visa, but by showing marriage certificate and being in process in home office was good enough (and we are talking about a global well known IT company)

One of the biggest and most active clubs in LBS is the Media Club. The annual media summit (6th year coming up) is now one of the biggest in London. In previouse years it was mentioned in the Int'l media (incl. YNET btw).

I agree with your last point. A couple of months ago I had dinner with some MBA2000 alumni. It looks like those who graduated in 2000 and in 2007 (my class) faced very similar situation . A very good market on graduation, and a very bad situation a year down the road (it was just after a few consulting firms, big ones, managed out some of my classmates)… They said that the graduates of 2001 got the main hit (just as the 2008 grads will probably face), but actually those who started in 2002, and graduated in 2004 were very lucky, because they returned to the market just when it recovered.
Having said that, I think that getting into b school now will be much harder, as the demand will go up (think about all those Lehman analysts that found themselves without a job just when the application season starts… it is probably their best option at the moment).
anyway, best of luck to everyone – my classmates, the fresh graduates, and applicants. It's not an easy time…

ok… let's start… sorry I am writing in english, it is easier for me at the moment.1.one might compare LBS to a NYC school (S/C( but I think there is a huge different in terms of the social environment. a few of my class mates who where there on exchange confirmed this.
unlike in the US school (NYC especially) where people are more or less from the neighberhood and have a full oife outside of school. In the case of LBS, most of he students are new to london (only 9% brits) and therefore are looking to make new friendships. the social aspct in LBS is very very strong. Partners used to laugh at us that when ever we go out to a club it's a huge group of ±50 people :-)2. leadership, teamwork, and international experience or exposure
3. yes. we are here with a newborn and it is expensive. However, one advantage of being in the UK w/ a baby is that you have loads of activities which are free or almost free, and this is great. Childcare on the other hand is VERY expensive.
4. CS is great. they have a new director, which is one of the best things that happend to LBS, especially if you are interested in industry. very very helpful, from day one, untill you sign your first full time offer.
5. yes. they also try to give one to an Israeli every year. there is also the scholarship of the british council, which is very competitive but possible. check it out and notice that you can apply to this one even before you know whether you got into the school.
6. we are working on it… more and more young alumni are going back to Israel into key positions and help raising the brand.

הסיכוי הוא גבוה מאד. שליש מהבוגרים מוצאים את עצמם במה שנקרא ה"תעשיה" (כלומר, לא יעוץ ולא בנק) בכל רחבי העולם. בתור בוגרת הבי"ס את זכאית להשאר לעבוד באנגליה עפ"י סכימת ה-HSMP שאחרי כמה שנים (לא יודעת אם זה 2 או 5) מקנה לך אזרחות בריטית. אם זה השיקול המרכזי, אז זה לחלוטין נון-אישיו במקרה של LBS.

איפה בארופה?
לאנגליה יש אמנת בט"ל עם ישראל, ולכן אם אתם משלמים פה בט"ל ניתן לקבל החזר על מה שמשולם בארץ. אנחנו בכל אופן משלמים בט"ל (משהו כמו 100 ומשהו ש"ח לזוג לחודש) ושומרים על כל הביטוחים המושלמים שלנו בקופ"ח וכשמגיעים לארץ תמיד תמיד עושים אוברול (היום במיוחד אני לא סומכת על ה-NHS). מה שכן, יש לנו פה ביטוח פרטי דרך העבודה של בעלי. לא הפעלנו אותו עדיין (אבל גם לא שנ=מענו ניסים ונפלאות על השרות הפרטי במדינה הזו… עוד סיבה לשמור על מה שיש בארץ)בתגובה ל: מחשב נייד ללימודים #13621To: All

אצלנו זה ממש לא ככה. כל אחד קונה מה שבא לו (שבמקרה של לונדון, אני לא בטוחה שעדיף לקנות כאן ולא בארץ).
השנה נראו הרבה מקבוקים בקמפוס (כולל עבדכם הנאמנה שהצטיידה באחד יפה במיוחד). אפל מציעים הנחות נהדרות לסטודנטים!!

Hi Yariv,as at the time of your visit it is still spring break, I would suggest contacting the admissions office to make sure you will be able to sit in a lecture during your visit (there are very few classes running that week in a special format of a block week, i.e. 5 full days in one week rather than 10 sessions spread over the term).
I would be in town but probably not in school.
if you don't mind meeting me with a crying baby over my shoulder please send me an email closer to your visit (at the moment I am able to plan only a few hours ahead…)you can also send me an email and I will see if any of the other israelis are in town or still working on their tan somewhere else.

כשאנחנו עברנו ללונדון זו היתה הדרך הכי נוחה וזולה. 250 ש"ח ל-20 ק"ג, מגיע תוך 3 ימים, עד הבית. בלי לסחוב ובלי כלום.
מה שאנחנו עשינו זה להשאיר אגז אחד עם דברים שאולי נצטרך, ואז אחרי שהגענו, התמקמנו וראינו מה באמת צריך או לא, ביקשנו מההורים שישלחו לנו.

שליש מהכיתה הולכים לעבוד לא בבנקים ולא בחברות יעוץ. שליש.
השליש הזה נמצא בהרבה תחומים אחרים, בהם כל תחום הפארמה והמדיקל, הייטק, והנפט (נו, אויל אנד גז, אבל אין לי כח לעבור לאנגלית).
בתחום של יזמות הבי"ס סופר חזק!!!!!!
הקורסים ביזמות הם מהפופולרים, יש המון תחרויות של ביזנס פלנס שנשפטות ע"י VCמהשורה הראשונה, בקיץ יש לך אפשרות לעשות סאמר סקול ביזמות במקום אינטרנשיפ, בו אתה עובד על הרעיון העיסקי שלך (אה, כן, שכחתי לציין שבכל הקורסים הרגילים ביזמות יש לך את האופציה לעבוד על רעיונות אמיתיים שלך או של חברים שלך).בתחום של טכנולוגיה, מגייסות החברות הבאות (רשימה חלקית): סיסקו, אוויה, גוגל, יאהו, האניוול, אקספדיה, אמזון, סקייפ, מיקרוסופט.
ל-BT יש תכנית מצוינת לMBA. ממש ממש מצוינת!!
ואני משוכנעת ששכחתי כמה (גם הטלקום וחברות מדיה מגייסות הרבה).הבצפר גם השיק השנה את ה Institute of Technology – מכון המחקר בנושאי טכנולוגיה בשיתוף עם UCL (אחד מבתי הספ הטובים להנדסה).
השנה הטק קלאב גם מרים את הכנס הראשון בנושא טכנולוגיה.אני לא אגיד שהבצפר ממש שם בתחום של הטכנולוגיה, אבל הוא בהחלט בדרך.
בכל ראיון שלי אני רואה גם אנשים מאינסאד. האמת היא, לא ברור לי מה הערך המוסף (כלומר לא בטוחה שיש כזה) לאינסאד ע"פ LBS בתחום הזה.בתגובה ל: התקבלת? אנא עדכן #12377To: All

actually…Getting a job in the UK after graduating from a US school is easier than the other way. there are a few reasons:
1. Visa – much much easier these days
2. Brand – US schools are well known in EU while LBS is just starting to build its brand thereand to 123456: about Google, if you fgured out their EU recruitment process please share your insights. to me it is one of the biggest mysteries of the whole MBA experience. It is probably the most random and complicated process that I have ever seen.

חיפוש העבודה הוא מאד מובנה אם אתה מתעניין בבנקים או בחברות ייעוץ, והתהליך מתרכז בחודש וחצי אינטנסיביים (ינואר – פברואר בעת חיפוש עבודה לקראת הקיץ, אוקטובר – נובמבר לקראת full time).אם אתה מתעניין במה שנקרא "התעשיה", כלומר לא ייעוץ ולא בנקים אז זה כבר תלוי בתחום הספציפי:
פרמה – הרוב המוחלט של החברות הגדולות מגייס במהלך אותן תקופות שציינתי למעלה
היי טק, אינטרנט – מפוזר יותר על פני השנה
וכך הלאה.לגבי מגוון העבודות ורמת השכר, והאמת היא שכמו שציינתי גם לגבי התהליך עצמו – תלוי באיזה תחום אתה מתעניין. יעזור אם תפרט קצת…
דיסקליימר אחד חשוב: תמונת המצב כיום היא מצויינת, ואני משוכנעת שזה גם מה שאמרו לעצמם אלו שהתחילו את תהליך ההרשמה בשנת 1999 – 2000… אף אחד לא יודע מה יהיה מצב השוק כשתסיים בעוד 3 שנים (לפחות).

אני ביקרתי בזמנו בספטמבר. הבעיה העיקרית שמצאתי היא לאו דווקא הקרבה לדדליין אלא העובדה שזו ממש תחילת השנה (בחלק בכלל מתחילים באוקטובר), כך שהסטודנטים בשנה ראשונה עדיין לא היו ממש מאופסים וקשה היה לקבל רושם אמיתי.
