Hi Asaf,
What about relocation?…..
2: ???Any Israeli Applicants #9976To: LPOW
LPOW,
You raised an interesting point here.
From your note I understand that finding a job in the US, let's say for ex. in consulting (in which you don't necessarily have to provide managerial experience), is possible as well without a MBA but it is a bit harder (which is clear). I know that even in Israel it's possible but the chances are near to zero. What are then the chances to get such job in the US without a MBA?
If the possibility is not far from that with a MBA so why bother?
Thanks,
Itai.

Asaf,
Can you tell from where did you get the info that an international degree is important for high tech companies? As far as I know, most of them don't even look for an MBA…
Itai.
2: ???Any Israeli Applicants #9965To: porata
I tend to agree with you actually… I don't think an MBA will make you a great leader if you have none of the required skills before. Of course if you had such skills before but they were "hidden", I guess that the experience of an MBA will do a good job of pulling it out from you. In this case as well, I don't think an MBA from TOP US will make a difference compared with an MBA from TAU. I assume that in most top schools there are many special activities/forums/clubs/labs or whatever that are dealing with leadership, but I don't believe joining an entrepreneurship club will make you more entrepreneur….
Bottom line, in my opinion, the added values of an MBA in the US is mostly about the networking, the international experience, the internship and the brand.
2: ???Any Israeli Applicants #9962To: shimonh, porata
I think he meant the buttom line of what you learned – the "total knowledge" that you have after such degree compared with someone who studied at TAU (for ex)
As far as I know, an Ivy league program wil not make you know better finance or economy (no mater who taught you them)
This was how I understood it and I may be wrong….
(I realy don't think that communication skills, culture, better educators, class mates, internship have anything to do with what he meant…)
porata?

I guess you did not read carefully porata question…

As far as I have heard – the education earned is exactlly the same. You can talk to people who graduated and hear it from them….To: bilgrai, Yasmin
Guys,
Although you both are a "bit" more experience than I am, I am getting the impression that you are really having fun there – meaning – "you are living in a movie" (If I may…). Being admitted to Stanford requires some good background and especially good grades and GMAT (Stanford is known for prefering high grades and GMAT over other things). I don't think it is that easy to get in and and it is sometimes even impossible to get
in with GMAT < 700 and no other some kind of leadership or something else HUGE that you did.
I am sure that most of the Stanford's MBA students with GMAT > 750 did not think they will get in but finally did. But this is not the case with applicants who have low GMAT.
Your notes remind me a girl that once wrote here that she got very high GMAT and got admitted to all TOP-5 only by going to the gym and resting all day….
If you want to be admitted – you have to make a comprehensive research. I don't think there are any discounts here…
good luck anyway :)
itai.

#9920To: benny
#9912To: benny

To: damn
