Why is your text justified to the right? do you consider yourself to be a web savvy person? or is too hard to learn how to use the web browser?

Although most of what you say make sense, it does contradicts info I have about problems friends of mine are facing these days.
But I guess only an up-to -date immigration lawyer can give an exact answer.
#2376In reply to phil from March 04 2004 on 01:53
why not prepare alone?, I studied alone, and I know a couple of others who did. we all scored above schools average.
Start with the Kaplan program, then solve ETS 10th ed. book. you can add a couple of extra books for the diversification (Princeton, Arco)

You can get a J visa only if you have s sponser (employee or university), but then you have to commit to leave the US after graduation for at least two years, UNLESS – you get a waiver.
ASK GMAX: GMAT #2343In reply to YouKnoWho from March 01 2004 on 14:46

1: ???Any Israeli Applicants #2128In reply to gbiron from February 15 2004 on 12:17
LOL
1: ???Any Israeli Applicants #2126In reply to gbiron from February 15 2004 on 12:00

In reply to igert from February 08 2004 on 14:10

H/W, just these two schools?
1: ???Any Israeli Applicants #1891In reply to nimo2003 from January 18 2004 on 17:20
most (if not all) serious school post job placements on their web site; look at the ones you are interested in.
50%?, sounds WAY TOO FAR FETCHED. I don't know about 11-20, but 1-10 have no problem to my knowldge. where does the guy who told went to school?, what's his/her profession?, what's your profession?
MBA in a top school is not a magic pill – that takes care of all your financial problems; it's a creer move. if you can show that an MBA is a good career move, than it's probably true, and in your profession, you will have a good chance finding a job.

H/M//K Round 2. no news yet (way too early).
1870In reply to kassifo from January 17 2004 on 00:30
I assuming we're still talking about MIT.
According to a chat with Rod, # of R1 apps was over 30% down from last year (less than 1000, no exact number). I guess it was WAY LESS than they expected. Rod said they've interviewed 40% of the app pool (and admited about 200). My guess is that they don't know what to estimate in regard to the # of apps on round 2 and how many to damit, and that's why you got what you got.
IMHO. I don't think it's better or worse than being WL; it just means you're going to be compared to R2 instaed of R1 pool. You're best chance is that # of R2 apps will be also lower.
Disclaimer – I'm a R2 applicant.

1: ???Any Israeli Applicants #1732Tonight I've finished submitting HBS R2 application. The HBS server was very slow, probably dure to heavy traffic. If there is still someone out there who needs to submit his/her R2 app – I suggest you do it today.
It took me almost 4 hours to review the application, finalize last minute typoes – and submit it.
good luck R2 apps!
1: ???Any Israeli Applicants #1697In reply to sharon_g from December 31 2003 on 09:20
I think that allot less people are applying R2….inspite of common belief here in the forum; hence the quiet…
any other idaes?
BTW – even B-Week forums are much quieter this year, it's quite noticable.
In reply to MBA applicant from December 30 2003 on 12:46
I understand what you mean, I originaly planned to apply to more than three schools, but I will not have enough time to complete more applications to top tier schools, I started W, but abandoned it.
Besides, these shcools have programs that I want to get into, I don't want to get just to any school becuase I know it's top tier. Although I invetsted allot into it (two years of research and months of writing), b-schools are not the only thing in my life ;-)
In reply to omri from December 30 2003 on 11:19
I only researched(and visited) the schools I'm applying to (H/K/M), and I know that the reason R3 is bad is because you will not have enough time to arrange visa and financial aid before the start of the program. I do not know enough about Cornell, Stanford or Duke.
IMHO, having the number of applicatns down this year cannot help us, bacuase us Israelis are compared to one another, and although they don't admit of having a qouta (lots of debats were made over the matter) – they will not admit too many of us, and we are still in (very) strong competition between ourselves.
I don't want to discourage you in any way (!!!), although we're both sumitting R2… but just out of curiousity (you said you're tight on time…) how long are working on your H application? because I know Stanford is a longggg application, and working on both in parallel seems a bit scary….
what's your general profile? (age, ys of w/e, area of previous degrees).
Good luck to us all.
