Hi Goldberg,

Seems like you have a very extensive business experience so not sure why you need MBA at your age (you also have international business experience)

In terms of your age it is really your call. You will need to put a hold on your career for 2 years and than start from the beginning in a new work place. (average post MBA salaries are usually close $100K before taxes, so you need to figure out if it is worth it)

My advice is that if you want to switch careers than go for it even at your age,but if you just want to do this to enhance your current path, I would focus on your career.

סיכום קצר מהשנה הראשונה שלי במסלול ה MBA רגע לפני שאני מתחיל התמחות:

1) פגשתי אנשים מרתקים מכל העולם.

2) נהנתי מלוס אנגלס, עיר עם מזג אויר ללא תחרות ואוירה מדהימה.

3)קידמתי את הקרירה מתפקיד של מהנדס תוכנה לתחום מימון בבנק השקעות הרביעי בגודלו ב US.

4) היה שווה כל רגע של קושי, כל דולר שהצטבר בחוב, וכל שניה של פיקפוק בהחלטה.

למי שיש מחשבות שניות,

המסלול אמנם קשה מאד, אבל משתלם באמת כמו שאומרים.

Hi everyone,

I know it is application time so this is for those considering UCLA Anderson. Some insights into our program are:

1) Anderson is among a list of 7-8 core school for the investment banking recruiting. All banks come to recruit here – even from NY. This is one of the school's strengths.

2) Other strengths are: marketing, media and entertainment, entrepreneurship, and technology (west coast location)

3) The school was ranked 12 at BW and 10 at us news.

4) L.A is one of the best locations in the world: no place can match its weather, and the business options (work and ext) are huge.

5)It is friendly to Israelis as this year we had 12 admits and 6 took the offer : this is from a 360 class (A lot!!!!)

6) The atmosphere here is great, and people are very down to earth.

Hi Assaf,

In my opinion it comes to this :

It is better to apply with more experience. After the staj you will have lots to say in your application. However, I myself could not wait since I was anxious to start an MBA as soon as possible . I would say that if you have patience, wait and gain more experience. If not you still have great chances at this time. Working hard while doing the application is not easy but if you are motivated it solves the problem.

Hi,

I was accepted to UCLA Anderson with 2.5 years of full time experience.

As all components of an application – work experience is one aspect.

The more experience you have (especially managerial experience) the stronger that component is.

However, a high GMAT like yours with good grades and strongs essays balance that and you can get accepted to every strong school you want.

I think that they expect at least a cover letter stating that they are your first choice. Other than that any promotion update can help.

I konw you are probably tired from the process but if it is really important for you then you should consider one more recommendation. I really think that doing so really showes an interest.

2 facts that I am sure off:

1)Chicago accepted 13 Israelies up to now, Wharton more 12 or more, and UCLA 10. So it seems Israelies are a strong brand this year.

2) The number of application has risen in many schools. Haas for example have recieved 30 % more applications this year up to now.

So it seems that the MBA brand is also stronger in the US this year and therefore the competition is higher.

first of all congratulations – that is great news! I think that UCLA is a perferct place and when coming to choose from second tear – meaning top 11-15 , I think that the location makes it clear. I also think that the UCLA brand would be stronger than the other places you named and this is also important to your future. I will be going to L.A in the second admitted event on April so update me if you are going to.

אני לא יודע לגבי דפי – אם היא אמיתית או לא ואם כן דפי אז – KOL HAKAVOD

אני רק יכול לתת אותי כדוגמא – אני בא מתחום טכנולוגיה ואני בהחלט יכול לומר שאיני יודע אם אשאר שם בגמר ה MBA אליו אני יוצא השנה.אני מתכנן לבדוק את תחום ה IB וגם ה CONSULTING . ברור שעדיף להיות ממוקד ואציין שבאפליקיישן הייתי הכי ממוקד בעולם אבל גם ברור שאחוז גבוה (לדעתי אף רב) עושים שינוי קרירה אחרי התואר.

אגב לדעתי בעיקר מי שבא מטכנולוגיה ופיתוח שעבורו הפן של הכלכלה הוא שפה זרה יוכל לדעת מה הוא רוצה רק אחרי שיתחיל ללמוד את החומר. (לי אין כלים בתחום כרגע)

רק אסב את תשומת הלב שדפי לא כתבה שהיא לא מכירה את התוכניות רק כתבה שהיא מתקשה להחליט….

בכל מקרה בהצלחה אייל ודפי וכל השאר

can you comment on the differances between businessweek and WSJ and UsNews rankings. How is it possible that a school like hbs is ranked 15-th at the WSJ rank for example. Also can you comment which of the rankings is most appreciated in the U.S.A
