The formal requirments were: GMAT, TOEFL, application (application form, essays, recommendations) and interview (optional but recommended). However, there is a lot more than the formal requirments. The admissions process is a complete theory and there is a lot to know and to do. If you have any specific question on this issue I will be happy to answer.

Yes, I'm studying in the daytime MBA program. There is no major in Duke (Fuqua School of Business) except for those who choose the HSM program. If you don't choose this specific program than you simply can choose courses that interest you and have your own "major".

Scholarships? There are some but as with other b-schools – they are very few. you need a really strong application to get a scholarship.

There are some opportunities to work on campus but I think that you will not have the time for them or will simply prefer to do other things in your free time.

Hey,

I'm also have this kind of question. I think that we can translate it in several ways.

My GPA is 77.8 which is exactly the average of my class and usually translated to 2.8-2.9. However,I think, and everybody please help me on this one, that it will be better to compare it to the average GPA is in the US which is (I think more than 2.9).

Everybody are welcome to comment on this issue.

Alon,

The passage you attached is talking about the alumni interview. However, the on-campus interview might be different regarding its rules and obligations, i.e. maybe you can interview on-campus before you submit your aplication.

I am a prospected candidate as you are and I prefer not to interview before I submit my application since that I want to come to the interview while I know exactly what to say (and that will happen only after I'll finish my application or at least close to this stage). So, I think that it's better to be interviewed after submitting the application or at least close to this point.

Second, Which schools do you think ensure their graduates the maximum possible option without hurting the chances? (it is clear that a school which focuses on a specific industry, such as Wharton, will ensure better chances in its specific field. However, I'm looking for schools that give you the maximum options with reasonable and positive chances to take advantage of each option)

I'm standing in the middle of the process of choosing my prefered programs. I don't know yet what I really want to do after graduation (and I probably won't know until I'll start the MBA) and so I want to keep all the options.

1) I'm seriously thinking about Kellog as my "stretch school". However, I have some doubts if this is the right school for me because of its strong name in marketing (nobody speaks about its program in finance/general managment), and as I said I want to keep all the chances (especially the finance).

What do you think?

2) I want to study and work in the USA but I want to keep my chances for working in Europe after graduation. Which schools in the USA will the better ones for that?

Everybody,

I think that you are wrong. The amounts are closer to 100K (as far as I know from alumni).

Moreover, as far as I know it is realistic to count on paying the lawn back within 2-3 years. There are bonuses and summer internship that help. I even heard about students who managed to finance their second year from all kind of resources, so they had to payback only for their 1st year.

Anyway, If you be wise and calculated, you will be able to payback within 2-3 years.

יש מורים שמלמדים באופן פרטי, אבל חבל להשקיע כל כך הרבה כסף במורה פרטי. יש מכון שמלמד באופן כמעט פרטי (4 בכיתה מקסימום) וגובה תשלום כמו המכונים הגדולים. מדובר במיטב, שהוא המכון היחיד בארץ שמתמחה בהכנה ל- GMATבלבד. בניגוד לשאר המקומות שבהם נותנים לסטודנט או למישהו שהוציא ציון גבוה במבחן ללמד במשרה חלקית, במיטב מלמדים שני מורים שזהו המקצוע שלהם מזה מספר שנים.
צחי, המורה לחלק הכמותי, מלמד כבר 10 שנים ברציפות והוא המורה הכי ותיק בארץ. איירין, המורה לחלק המילולי, הינה דוברת אנגלית כשפת אם ומלמדת גם כן מספר שנים רב. שני המורים הינם בעלי שם בתחום, שניהם לימדו במפר מכונים בארץ (איירין גם לימדה בארה"ב), שניהם כתבו ספרי הכנה מיוחדים למבחן שמכינים בצורה מושלמת למבחן. שניהם אף כותבים שאלות ומבחנים.

חשוב להבין נקודה חשובה מאד בנוגע ל- GMAT. ל- GMAT יש חוקים משלו. זה לא פסיכומטרי. אבל בארץ אין מספיק ניגשים למבחן ולכן זה לא משתלם כלכלית להשקיע את המשאבים הדרושים לשם הכנה ראויה ל- GMAT וכל המכונים שמציעים הכנה ל- GMAT מלמדים בליל של חומר שהוסב מפסיכומטרי. מיטב הוא המקום היחיד שמלמד באמת את מה שדרוש ל- GMAT. כמו שציינתי, מדובר במורים שמלמדים אך ורק GMAT ומכירים את כל הטריקים והשטיקים. אף מכון אחר לא מלמד את מה שצריך ללמד. למד איתי בחור שלמד לפני כן במכון בינ"ל שאמור להיות המוביל בארץ. אחרי שיעור אחד הוא הבין שאין בכלל מה להשוות ושעבדו עליו (הוא אפילו שוקל לתבוע).

אם אתם שואל את עצמך מדוע לא שמעת על מיטב התשובה היא שמדובר במכון חדש (אבל לא המורים. המורים הם וותיקים וידועים) שעדיין לא התחיל לפרסם את עצמו.

בקיצור כל מי שמעוניין בהכנה כמו שצריך למבחן ובתמורה מלאה לכספו, שיחסוך את הזמן והמאמצים בעריכת סקר שוק ופשוט יפנה למיטב בטלפון: 6428666- 03. כל מקום אחר פשוט יהיה זריקה של כסף.
